Hitting New York...

Tonight, Veranda. Mmmmm, bliss. Waaaaaaay better than when I was last there in Feb. Had pretty much lovely to great dances all night. Plus bonus bachata and salsa with Franklin Diaz.

I would like to second LG's bliss feeling, tonight was a great night at Veranda. :) And the fact that it just so happened to be the first time F. Diaz came made it a reaaaally nice night. :D

Tomorrow (aka today :P) LG and I will be going to one of the most "authentic" salsa venues in NYC. :)

I stand by my statement. Whoever wants to challenge it is welcome to come to NYC and dance with our lovely Puerto Rican/Nuyorican dancers. :D

Wait, you were suppose to be in .... never mind!

If for such a sin you get all those beautiful dances, be more sinful :)

Okay, I tried Taj on Monday as there was a band (good/fun). Other than that, agree with lurker, layout not amazing, level low apart from a couple of visitors, also DJ music a touch too romatica for my usual taste.

But the 20 dollar entry fee they want for guys is a lot! Glad to be a woman tonight :)

Now going to Open Diary thread to blather about all the crushes I am developing for visiting Italians :D

How much longer are you going to be in town?

Seriously? Italians, out of all people? :P Guess they must be importing the wrong kind of Italians to northern Europe then

Yeah, we sure are!

yeah the italians..good leads and guys dressed better than me kkk but they are petit for my taste haha

Lol, yeah they were not much taller than me in my heels. But they had more muscles than a lot of Italian salseros I've danced with ;)

How much longer are you going to be in town?

Leave NY Saturday morning. So still 3 nights to go :)

:notworthy: I'm coming for 2 weeks next month! It's been a whole year since I've done any salsa travel!

I will be travelling to Europe and the Caribbean the entire month of September (leaving on Sept. 4 after the NY congress) so we will miss each other. :(

Sabs, Caribbean, where ya going?..this is whats been going on while i left, short italians are taking over.... this is blasphemy.....and with muscles......i dont believe it. how do they fit in those skinny jeans and shirts with muscles....this must be some hybrid italian we are talking about...lol

Hahahaha, just my thoughts! I think they must be some salsa spies undercover, no way they are really Italian: muscles and nice to dance with?...

You can have nice muscle definition and still fit in nice fitted jeans and shirts. :P But don't worry, they are not taking over. Exotic salsa dancers are nice, but New York women love our New York leads. :)

Two weeks in Europe and then two weeks in the Dominican Republic and Grenada. :D

Last year, there were some amazingly good female Italian dancers in NY during and after the congress. They must be in on it too!

Well I had a lovely 9 nights in Milano er, New York :p There really is nothing quite like it, such a great scene :)

Cache, Abakua, Salsamania, Jimmy's and Veranada were all great. Taj is blah. And Mambo Fateegz was pretty average, though I did find one new-to-me leader that wowed me, and I got my last dance in NYC with Italian #1 :)

Big shout out to lurker, Luke and PielCanela...you guys are wonderful, thanks soooo very much for all the dances :)
And massive hugs for the lovely Sabrosura who was fabulous in pimping out reccommending great guys to dance with, and awesome places to eat, and she took me to two authentic PR salsa events both with live music. She is so your girl if you want to get to the source! :D

Classes
I did some from Frankie, ET and a new one for me, Franklin Diaz.

Omg, Franklin Diaz *moves*; I went to the Monday class which was shines with body movement, I think it's probably the hardest class I have ever taken, way too hard for me, though he does give individual help. Some of his students reccoed his Friday class as being slower paced and more broken down, so I'd like to try that next time.

Frankie Martinez was away the first weekend so Lori Perez took his classes. I really recommend her coz she does things, especially the warm up, a little simpler and with a bit more basic explanation, but it's still Frankie moves. But it was nice to get some genuine Frankie plus jokes mid-week :)

I am now in DC getting munched by mosquitos, I miss NYC :)
