I also just spoke with the gorgeous addie diaz and she is no longer teaching at all  so i am striking out
 Private classes or not teaching at all? :( I just wrote a review of her styling videos and was wondering where if she was going to finish the series. For me, $250 would be a bit steep. Probably better off just taking group classes from a great instructor I think. :)

Okay, at least there's an indication that she may return to teaching at least. She is also persuing a music career so that may have something to do with her not teaching right now. :)

I just spoke with a man Thomas Guererro who seemed great he is out of Santo Rico dance school i am may try him
I've done a lesson with him over here in the UK. The promoter didn't tell us he was going to teach On2 and didn't tell Thomas we were all On1 dancers. He adapted well :) Had lots of energy and it was a good class.

As for the promoter ....

... went out of business in that town :D

hi italiansalsaking,
are you looking only for private classes or group classes? Even for privates at a reasonable price ($70), I'd recommend Johnny Matos, of Abakua. He's great. Or even Franly Diaz, he's great too. I like both because they have a great concept of dancing, and a great style, way behond just teaching you steps.

My guess is that it is not about the teaching anymore. Frankie Martinez has become not just a famous dancer (and let's face it, he is just dreamy), but a brand name.

Spending $250.00 just to say that you've danced with Frankie is like spending $600.00 for a pair of Manolos. They may not even be comfortable, you just buy them just because you can.

He is such an amazing teacher. I have taken workshops with him and other Santo Rico dancers here in Montreal as well as New York and Puerto Rico and he is just hilarious, on top of having amazing moves and being very good at breaking down steps.
And, on stage he and his group just blow me away. The all do amazing spins!

Hey, that;s is WOW!!!!
Here in Bulgaria most of the people work for less than $250 / month...
But we have good dancers, too...
You can go to a private lessons with some of the best dancers here for 'bout $10-15.

So come here - it's a small paradise... Hurry before the comming of EU :-D

I like the guy ... I think his name is Danny and he is Dominican ... he teaches with Frankie and does the more advanced class. He is a real cool guy and a great dancer.

If you want the top notch guys, also try Juan Matos, Thomas, and Nelson. Check the NY mambo website. Also Ismeal is good.

salcero2005, you must be thinking of Johnny Matos. Johnny is Dominican and teaches one of Frankie's classes (Friday's intermediate class). And you're right, he's one of the coolest guys, and teachers, I know.

Yeah you're right ... I got peeps mixed up, lol. Johnny Matos is his name ... nice guy and his classes are fun. I could see taking a private with him as well cause he is a good teacher.

@ Italiansalsaking:
You're so lucky to have the possibility to learn in NY!!!
I think 250 is a little over the top - but as far as there're people willing to pay it...

But anyhow, Thomas Guerrero is a great choice!!! And as far as I know from Ahtoy, Santo Rico normally takes 70,- per hour...
And I completely agree with Jones, Nikka - Santo Rico blows you away, they're amazing!
