Which Salsa Congresses Or Major Events Do You Plan To Attend in 2015?

Oh no! The Romanian National Congress has been cancelled for 2016, and I already have my airline tickets. Need to find another event in the general area for the Jan. 23 weekend. (Or just travel around Eastern Europe).

What?! Wow, I wonder what happened...only reason I can think of is that they lost the venue?

Edit: Yes, that is indeed the reason, I just checked their Facebook page, the hotel where they usually hold this does not allow such events anymore in their lobby.

The Milan "World Salsa Meeting" is that weekend. Flights from Romania to Italy are really cheap on the low cost airlines (as long as you don't have too much luggage to pay for!).

Is it time to talk about what 2016 on the whole looks like for everyone? It'd be great to know your recommendations. At the moment I just have Croatia Summer Salsa Festival on my radar but am looking for something to fill my spring and then autumn / winter fix.

What do you like?

Well i'm advanced on1, learning on2 and cha cha, love bachata and kizomba so i guess you could say i like all sorts. This year I did 5* in Heathrow, Berlin salsa congress and Warsaw el sol, liked them all but found the volume and level of on2 dancers made it hard to just dance for fun as I would on1 as i'm having to concentrate so much lol! I also tend to travel alone so perhaps these congresses were too big for me.

Well I was to those three and what's similar is that they're big. :) Heathrow is good because of preparties, Berlin - shows, and Warsaw - social dancing and live music. Very different ones to me and I. plan to go only to Warsaw next year. Smaller fests are hit and miss, but emotionally I think much better experience, you can connect deeper with people.
So I also guess you're looking for Europe.

Right now from big ones it looks like you'd like Bachaturo and Istanbul international dance fest. They have both good salsa and gropalicious qualities.

Also you probably have to ask ladies, because I don't know how dudes dance in various countries. I've heard Kyiv, Dutch, Rostov leads are good.

I'll vouch for Dutch and Paris leads :) (Haven't had the pleasure of dancign with Kyev and Rostov leads yet)

I'll certainly go to Rovinj in Croatia and Warsaw el Sol.
Benidorm maybe.
Even though I live in London, I don't like the location at the opposite side of the city for 5*. I don't see myself travelling everyday by tube there. Why don't they organise it at a central place.

I do like the look of Istanbul International Dance Festival. Don't know about the 'gropalicious' aspect though o_O
Has anyone got any tips for Rovinj. i.e. is it worth getting a workshop pass and how friendly is it if you aren't going with a big group?

I would suggest going with other folk, because it's huge. There are organized groups, I can point you to one.
For workshops I suggest Wednesday and Thursday, and then dance for remining days.
