What I'm listening to right now...

totally diggin this !

Quarter street (from australia)

i like the way it is produced with the percussion very prominent in the mix, thats how i think salsa should be mixed, it kinda gives it an old school quality, and the singer has an almost ruben blades-ish voice.

For all the TIMBA haters out there. This is why I like some timba...hard hitting with some wicked mambos...and even an electric gituar.

I agree wholeheartedly, and also like the way this is mixed. I would add to this: major percusson (conga, timbales, bongos) should be mixed in much hotter than minor percussion (maracas, clave, guiro). The trend the last 30 years has been to even them all out, but ever dB you turn up minor percussion you take away from the umph of the major percussion

Palos De Fuego...I had this song stuck in my head and had to Google it. Unfortunately I sold my Lost Classics of Salsa album years ago when I was broke...that the stars for YT. One of my favorites...:)

Just found this song and I've been listening it on repeat this morning, it's a problem because I can't get my body to sit still (I'm doing schoolwork at the same time :D) -- too much sabor in this song :)

I assume you've seen this video of propel dancing to it.
I personally am currently listening to Mayimbe's new song "Te vi nacer" - more of a romantica :)

I have been blasting Micaela by Sonora Carruseles over and over the past few days. On my phone, in the car...if I don't stop soon I may need Salsa intervention. Every time I listen to this song, it brings back a memory of an incredible dance...I can almost see the other person's face...but unlike some of my very clear dance memories, this one is a blur. o_O:D

Was just digging thru my library for my class tomorrow, and listening to some older stuff, played one of my forgotten faves ( this will please one member ! )..

Cuco Valoy... Suavecito.. A modern Son, with some of the clearest Bass .
If you want learn on "2", this song might help

to me this is just brilliant in every way

Good lyrics, great arrangements, and beautifully made video!
talk about setting the bar high

im bitten by the 'nino y la verdad' bug at the moment

I've been listening to El Gran Combo a whole ton. Just about had the Arroz Con Habichuela album on repeat. Also been jamming to an Orquesta Guayacan compilation, simply because I dunno what full studio album I wanna buy next. :)
