So stupid.
I honestly think it's because they drznk the conservative Indian narrative that because Jagmeet is Sikh, he is a terrorist.
You got it all wrong. Only a small single digit percentage of Sikhs in Canada support the terrorists or their misguided cause. Most Canadians do not understand nor care about the dynamics because it isn’t about Canada. Unlikely that particular issue impacted the NDP chances. It was all domestic politics.
As far as Jagmeet Singh, he clearly sympathized and hood and winked about terrorist crime and those behind it. Until the public pressure forced him to back track somewhat. It is on the record in an interview with press where he repeatedly refused to accept the perpetrator of biggest terrorist act from Canada. The perpetrator who was identified by Canadian govt’s own inquiry and none of the identified Canadians were ever bought to justic. This is the March 2018 account of that interview from previous year I think. This is from Canadian press that is not interested, doesn’t understand and downplays terrorist acts emanating from Canada. Same with most Canadian govts in the last three decades. Therefore most Canadians do not know the dynamics.
It was bombing of plane which killed 329 people of which 269 were Canadians. Counted as worst aviation tragedy in air:

There is no “conservative” Indian narrative. You can’t view this from conservative-liberal lens.
Ofcourse there are other issues related to Canadian domestic politics which made him unpopular and lose support. I read that he resigned. His terrorist sympathizing isn’t in consciousness of Canadian voters. He backed Trudeau though his popularity was crashing. Was too late to pull the support after people had been angry enough on Trudeau to give conservatives 27% advantage as late as Dec. I think supporting Trudeau for too long must have caused NDP a lot of damage.
