songs in 3-2 clave

Blen blen blen (many versions - the title actually refers to the 3 clave beats on the 3 side of the clave)

El Conde La Ley (I love this track)

There are more I will recall later.

I don't know if this is the original but it's a masterpiece: Celeste Mendoza Seguiré sin soñar

The Barretto cover is also superb (and retains the 3-2 clave)

Un verano en NY has a clave change at 3.12 i.e. 3-2 to 2-3. I assume the OP is asking for pure 3-2 tracks. Tracks starting in 3-2 then a clave change to 2-3 and no more changes are far more common than pure 3-2 tracks.

All three versions of Blen blen blen I checked (Chano Pozo, Tito Rodriguez, Pete Terrace) switch to 2-3 as well. (Great tracks though!)

These are a few I've tagged as 3/2 but I'm not confident enough in my musical ear to know if they're actually 3/2 or my ear is tuning into the clave on the 'wrong' side, so exercise caution

One of my favourites of all time:

A classic I hear a lot on dancefloors

Clave Mambo by Joe Cuba I have on my list too but that switches at some point (I think), but it has one of the clearest 3/2 intros of all time

I know the T Rodríguez does but vaguely thought the original didn't. You're probably right though.

I have to re-listen then. I used to play it with a salsa band many years ago and we stayed on 3-2 all the song, actually it was my first montuno part in 3-2 at the time. But it might be just the version of the band I played with

If I recall correctly the 1st 2 are indeed pure 3-2 but, as you say, Clave Mambo changes.

The Chano Pozo is not that clear -- based on harmony I rather hear the coro-pregón part as 2-3 (particularly if I start there), but I can choose to hear it the other way round with some effort

It would be interesting to hear how well it works without the clave change.

Re-listened. You’re right as usually. :)

I read many Cuban charangas of the time end of 70ties/80ties have clave 3-2 all the way, supposedly influence from merengue which was very popular then. It’s usually fast sones with 3-2. I’ll look if I find some

Weirdly I don't think I've ever heard this before. For me pure 3-2 but lots of clave counterpoint which I think means it sounds like it's changed but hasn't really.

Does merengue have 3-2 clave? It's a rhythm I've not learnt on percussion but I need to learn asap.

Were there even many charangas recording in Cuba in the 70s and 80s?

The Machito version of BlenX3. To me it's pure 3-2 but again a bit ambiguous. If I were dancing to it I wouldn't change or I'd never know where I was.
