Has dancing restarted in your place ? Are masks used ? Are you dancing socially as of today ?

Seeing online videos of some dances in some countries . The virus is still around and many countries are still in lockdown . Vaccines are in the horizon too . Attitude to virus and dancing varies between people and countries . The scene was different in april , now and in the future .
I live in a small city in india . I used to travel to large cities for dancing and also one or two dance scenes in my small city . Here hardly anyone is dancing socially now while some online classes are there minimally .

Off topic but since you are from india, were you there when Jhon Narvaez was at the congress?
I saw a video if him giving advice and tips and I can't find it anywhere. It had a wierd title.

Israel - Attended my first dance party yesterday since 2019 (became a father and then covid). Outdoor "Salsa on the beach" in Bat Yam. Around 200 people without masks dancing on a BS floor with a salsa every 30-40 minutes and a kizz floor too. Salsa clubs are opening from Sunday along with night clubs. Life is getting back to normal here now that most of the population is Pfizer vaccinated.

Not sure but I would expect that most places all over Europe are closed at this moment. I am not expecting to go to a dance event until April or so.
For some reason my predictions always seem to be right. Last time I predicted I would dance again in July which I did. Now it seems quite possible to dance again by late april

Oh you on that Chlorophyllical type $h!znit. I gotcha, playa.

This was the legal opening of a club last night after a year. People should have been earing masks according to regulations but entrance was only for people that have been vaccinated, recovered, or a negative covid test from the last 48 hours. I didn't go because openings usually have terrible sound, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get in if I diddn't show up crazy early due to crowd limitations and the fact that the actual party only starts after 11 PM.

Hmm...Looks like we'll have a looong dance skills recovery period ahead of us once dancing restarts :p

There was an outdoor salsa event today that I was planning to attend in the city.

It is first day of the spring and the sun is out. It was cold last few days. Mainly due to the winds which bring chills. Therefore I didn't feel too motivated to leave the warm sunny first day of the spring and drive 45 miles to San Francisco to dance wearing a jacket and mask + face shield. For anyone that knows San Francisco, it is almost always chilly

Instead had a nice lunch and drinks session with school time buddies, at a restaurant seated outside in the warm sun. Second time in a year going to restaurant with the people over meal. Last evening went out and got treated by a friend to a sushi dinner. First real sushi in over 14 months!

Instead of driving one hour to salsa, came back home after the lunch and spend that hour more productively on posting in salsaforums

Posted it in the wrong thread last Sunday!

I don’t know who but someone has been organizing a salsa event outdoors in a park. Not sure if it is with city’s permission and what kind of dancers it gets.

Asked a few regular hardcore dancers. They plan to sit out dancing till they are vaccinated and events are permitted.

There are a couple of locations hosting salsa that I am aware of. One started in mid-oct but after the first wave caused lockdown in early nov. Given how fragmented local salsa scene is, will know which dancers show up only when I go to one.

My scene is also fragmented on political conspiracy lines.

The level in the vid is typical of a lot of regional scenes in my (limited) experience i.e. I suspect a pre-pandemic vid of the same dancers wouldn't have been radically different to that one.
I agree. That is what my scene has looked lkjd every wednesday for 5 years. Sadly the only times I'm video'd is dancing with a newb and I have to loudly declare intentions, (or I feel compelled to), so I end up lookingnlijd a beginner. I swear I'm never video's by the same guy with a top dancer. I smell plandemic. Or I just look like $h!+

Here it is not political. People have a lot of choices - venues and locations. You need a car to get to anywhere here. Therefore someone may prefer to go to a venue that is only 10-15 minutes drive as opposed to 1 hour drive. Some venues have live bands and are usually attended by regular but casual dancers who love to drink and eat. Usually outdoors and during the day. There are others venues that cater to regulars who are not hardcores. Then you have those that are into Salsa, bachata and mix of latin dances. Finally you have the hardcores who tend to be picky.
