It is more rotation but not always. The casino version that has a lot of rotation has its own name: metodo cuadrado. By contrast, the Miami version of casino that is often taught to promote rueda is kind of a cuban salsa/linear hybrid.I was expecting more rotation I guess- I thought that’s what Cuban was.
What about the old white haired habaneros tat I see do backstop, sometimes not all the time. I would say they are still dancing casino. Didn't casino morph into its modern form of "optimized" for rueda? That would imply that it originally ha dback steps. There for backstop would be original and correct.Salsa Cubana is not the same Casino. Casino is not Salsa Cubana.
You never take back steps when dancing Casino as the lead is forward on 1. If your instructor is showing you back steps he is teaching you Salsa Cubana. In Casino your first step is in place or forward, never back.
If he is teaching you Salsa Cubana in a rueda this is ok to learn basic movements, but keep in mind that this is not Salsa Cubana nor Casino. Rueda is different as you have a fixed center of the circle that you have to stay oriented to.
Ask your instructor to show you the difference between Salsa Cubana and Casino. If he does not know what you are talking about, or cannot in a simple way explain the difference, I recommend you find another instructor.
Sounds to me like you want Casino.

Ha ginger uo on the name differential is kinda silly in this day and age.
I think you're arguing with a bot.
But I'll take "Deformacion de Casino" for $500, Alex.
I am not a bot. I am not a bot. Chris_Yannick don't delete my account. Just because I am adding intelligent commentary to this forum does not make a bot. Relax. I never thought I would have to prove I am a human.
Why eliminate? That's EXACTLY what a bot would say. Chris, initiate Bot Termination Protocol!!!
I thought I did.Why eliminate?
Bot or not Bot that is not the question. W/o someone posting stuff that does not fit with what RL dancers do, there would be no discussion here.
I think at times everyone should step up, post something controversial, let the traffic increase and maybe someone even stays on topic and sets the record straight.
Who wants to go first to post something controversial? @Offbeat @1derpalm ?
Yes, but so far no one has set the record straight.I thought I did.
click bait or raise bait? No thanks.
