Sabrosura - do you have any examples to show (of your lovely self or random youtube clip :)) of merengue danced in this way? I am much in favour of technically simple dances made interesting by spicyness, but sadly my own experience of merenge is a rather repetitive and monotonous dance :(

Yep, I do this. When I come across something that I can't pick up and copy straight off, whether it be footwork, body movement, co-ordination or anything else; I go home, break it down slowly - get more information on the technique (from a tutor or youtube or DVD) if I have to, then drill it...

This does not surprise me - imo working on and being part of a formation is a skill in itself. The bellydance groups who win competitions are not the ones who have the best individual dancers (ie soloists) and good soloists don't do so well in formation teams

After watching a documentary on Darcy Bussell I decided I liked her hair and wanted mine cut like hers. But the hair salon was closed so I had a go at cutting my own. It wasn't the best decision I've ever made ... :confused:
