^ This and they are in their elemend. Generally, if they are teaching, they have some level of confidence which is appealing and some form of respect in our little salsa world.

It seems to work from different angles depending on the woman, but there's nothing quite like a roomful of people hanging on your every word to boost you to instant Alpha status.

Combine that with the fact that we're talking about sweaty, exciting, exotic dancing rather than, e.g. North Atlantic haddock stocks or Software Engineering Best Practice, and it's a heady mix!

I don't really mind why it works; it's just nice that it does!

Seems salsa musicians (the younger ones) do even better. The local salsa musicians seem to all have a gorgeous gf, who can dance salsa and typically friend-zones the rest of us salseros. Makes me want to learn how to play.

I don't dig every salsa instructor, I do discriminate! The one I liked was hot, nice, careful and quiet. The hotness was a great plus, but in general, I just like guys who seem to know what they are talking about.

Unfortunately, that one seems to be really fixated on the blond, girlish looking ones... *sniff*
