What I'm listening to right now...

Rita Montaner was a versatile singer and one of the most important figures in cuban music.... she was a piano player and made her debut has a singer in 1922 at the inaguration of the station PWX.... she sang in theathers in La Habana and performed in NYC in 1926, she popularized El Manisero in Europe in the late 1920s, before Antonio Machin popularized it in the U.S. in 1930

Abelardo Barroso one of my favorite soneros.... he started his singing career with Sexteto Habanero in the 1920s after transiting some bands he joined one of my favorite charangas, Orquesta Sensación
