Yes, this accent. There is tons of nice music in Spain, and one of its flowers is for example Concha Buika:
But this is Rumba Flamenca, not Salsa.
She is of african origin, but grew up in Mallorca.

I've never considered him as a singer. Can you share a song where he's singing? What do you guys think about Alfredito Linares voice?
So it's not him singing? I've always just listened to some of his songs and assumed he was the singerI've never considered him as a singer. Can you share a song where he's singing?

I don't know. Never seen live.
This is what I assumed, he composed, produced, played piano, directed band, but somebody else did singing and jumping around.
Seems hard to distinguish his voice from the other singers
Man, it's years ago I didn't listen to him, I forgot about him!

I really like his style. Are there any other artists with a similar sound?I've met him. Albeit for a split second. Long enough to get my photo taken with him.
From my memory I would say Ray Perez is a bit more Son Montuno - oriented in his music and Linares a bit more salsa dura, but I am not sure at all.Linares and Ray Pérez always get lumped together. Indeed it was at a Ray Pérez gig that I met Linares (and Linares guested on piano on one tune in the concert).
However the two are not that similar. Maybe try 1970s Peruvian salsa for something closer to the Linares sound.

How would you explain their stylistic difference? (If you feel like)
Ray Perez's ghetto sound where I feel like I'm sitting back at my in-laws house in Medellin......it's gritty and ugly and gruesome and tough and feel like I'm about to get shot in the leg by someone.....but oh it's so good =-).
The opposite, I'm even more curious now! I'll jump into that thread right now!Probably not the type of descriptions you were expecting but that's how my mind works.
