What I'm listening to right now...

Ok.. didnt listen to that until now.. It has 3 distinct ;poss. Cha ( way too fast really ) a Danzon , or a Slow Guaracha
Well it is originally a Guaracha ( in 1966) but i don't know how to dance Danzon or Guaracha for that matter. I would do a cha cha cha with the steps with a long tres Uno dos treeeeees (this is the cha cha cha , a bit like the son) and do a bit of movement with my body. I know this is not how it is meant to be danced, but it my style LOL

4 and 1 is the Cha

One can never extend a beat too far, otherwise,.an "off " time would occur, thus affecting all that follows ( not to mention the partner ). Most cannot follow a Guapacha rhythm .

hehehe.... i love this redhead, i know that there are great actresses in american television sitcoms, like the ones that played Janet and Chrissy in Three's Company and many others, but to me Lucille Ball is the best all time

althought the series was filmed in california we also saw starring Desi Arnaz as a cuban bandleader in NYC, something typical of the time with the many cuban bandleaders in NYC at that time and also many bands from cuba toured the US, in my opinion the 30s to 50s were the time that cuban music attracted more the american audience in history, but in the 1960s we saw a decline in the popularity of cuban music in the US, and sadly in the 70s and 80s the term Salsa attracted only latinos in the US

best regards all

I Love Lucy is one of my favorite sitcoms all time, here are 2 videos from the series

1. part of a filming of I Love Lucy
2. Lucy and Ricky dancing to the Cuban Pete

Whenever I hear the name "Desi Arnaz" this comes in my mind:
I just love this performance!

All the rude 'Rebound Chick'-type songs aside, I do think there is a lot more to kizomba than just dry humping. I've been taking lessons for a few weeks now, and the more I learn, the more I love it :) Of course salsa can have excellent partner connection and musicality as well, but at the current point in my dancing journey, it's so much easier to dance intuitively, let go and let what I feel guide me in kizomba. I wouldn't want to dance just kizomba, but I wouldn't want to miss it either :)

that song also reminds me of the other Mr. Babalu, Miguelito Valdes... in the early 1940s he recorded that song by the composer Margarita Lecuona, who was the cousin of the great composer Ernesto Lecuona

best regards

1. i think he was here with the Xavier Cugat orchestra
2. and i think this was with his own band
