What I'm listening to right now...

What is this? Bambuco? Vallenato?
I really really want to go to Colombia one day! :-(
Not now, of course.
I don't know but I think this group is influenced by son montuno and blends it with local styles including marimba and possibly mambuco and others. I really don't know enough about it to be honest. It is not vallentato.

This song has many versions, I'm curious which ones you like more, which less, if I may ask such personal question? :)

I first heard it by Eddie Santiago 5+ years ago (and had been the only version I knew until this was introduced) so that old version is ingrained in my mental melody. For some reason the severe polarity in feel makes the emotional transition less connecting. I feel the same way with the new "hyper" Bachata variant which is really a different dance imo.

De Vuelta La Trampa by Lalo Rodriguez and adalberto Santiago seem similar enough that the subtle change doesnt make it a new song.

It's one of the reason I rarely like the live versions of song; artists try to make it much more "passionate" and throws the vibe all to hell.

Lluvia by Eddie Santiago is a completely different tune. You may be thinking of the Louie Ramírez version. I'm a massive Louie Ramírez fan but last time I listened to his version it did nothing for me. Likewise the original by Son 14 (recorded in Cuba early 1980s) doesn't do it for me either. But I do love the Willie Rosario version.

I was walking down Barceloneta beach and some Colombian band had set up by the beach and were singing songs like Bella Ciao. They had a huge crowd around them and many were dancing and getting into the music. This clip captures some of the energy from the beach band! I need to check out more Manu Chao and stuff like this! Like high tempo cumbia.. I really like the trombone.

Holy crap I just got 50 of his songs. Very easy to dance to. Nice melody uet good Latin feel. And the voice isn't annoying after hours of listening
I had this song on repeat when I was like 16 years old. Maybe I over-listened it though, it is less appealing than I remember.

Not a specific song, but I've been listening almost exclusively to two Salsa radio stations.

Salsa Warriors.
LaSoneraRadio

I've found a ton of good Salsa from just these two stations alone.

Holy crap! This station may be better than La Estero; plays all of my kind of stuff. Too bad it doesn't list the name of the songs (or at least not on my PC)... There was one that was gonig to go on my playlist :(. It does give the song into on the Android App though..

Edit - BAH! It's a blocker I'm using on Firefox....

I don't see the names of the songs on PC either, but shazam/soundhound can identify most of the songs. Didn't even know there was an app... will have to check it out.

Edit: nevermind. I just opened a pop up window direct from https://lasoneraradio.com/ and it lists the song titles. :) There's even a history window of recently played songs. Very cool!

OMG, I should have thought using Shazam on my cell to identify lol..

Disable any add-ons to Firefox. I would also pay to get rid of the ads in between songs
