Weird dance experiences

Sure everybody had some weird dances over the years. Maybe this thread can be a good collection for it. For fun, for write-down-self-therapy or for knowing similar things also happen to others.

As a starter one story which happened to me this summer. I was in another city for a vacation week, and my first social night was during the week in a small room, so a kind of familiar, cozy atmosphere with only about 30 dancers. One of my dances was a really good one with a follower who tended to be expressive in her styling, but it was good, she hit the accents well.

Then three days later, on saturday night, in a much bigger location with hundreds of people, it was a congress like atmosphere with a big crowded dancefloor. I saw that woman again and asked her for a dance, she agreed, I don't know if she remembered me. Then things got weird: she seemed over-exited from the beginning, she started doing turns I had not lead, and she always did one spin more than I was leading. I like it when followers show creativity, but this was different. She went completely crazy, no more waiting for my signals but starting crazy stuff on her own. I tried to calm her down by doing just basic step for one or two 8-counts or holding her in closed position, but without succeeding. I never had such a wild behaving follower, at least not an advanced one. I remember in my head I was thinking if she was on cocaine or speed or something like this. After a while I was tired of it, and went into shines to get rid of her. She immediately started doing even more crazy stuff like if she was on a stage. I kept on doing shines until the end of the song, more than two minutes probably. From time to time I looked at her if she had calmed down and I could try to dance with her, but no, she went crazy until the end of the song. I wondered if she didn't notice our shines lasted way too long, but she didn't seem to care. I was happy when the song was finally over.

Later I thought that she's probably a person that needs as much attention as possible. I don't think she wanted to impress me but all the others. In the small location where everybody saw everybody else she danced rather normal because she could be sure people noticed her, including that she was probably familiar with most people there. But on the huge crowded dancefloor she feared to not be noticed. You can dance as good as you want, but at the other end of the room nobody will notice you - except you dance like a maniac, so people start staring at you, including talking about you. Maybe she had taken some substance as well, with the aim of having full energy to impress others. But as so often this backfired, at least for me. Though maybe she was very content of her performance.
