MY JOURNEY WITH TITO PUENTE: A CELEBRATION OF LATIN MUSIC WITH JOE CONZO

Join Joe Conzo, legendary producer and latin music historian, to explore the life of Tito Puente and his influence on latin music, from his beginnings here in El Barrio to his international career, as well as his involvement with Boys & Girls Harbor, music, video and books will be shared in this entertaining and informative class.

Joe Conzo was a close friend of Tito Puente's and served as his PR person for many years. Joe wrote a book about their relationship: "Mambo Diablo, My Journey With Tito Puente."

This Sunday, a special treat is in store for those who attend the opening of the seminar series hosted by Joe Conzo Sr. at the Boys & Girls Harbor in Spanish Harlem. A never, ever, before presented tribute concert that was held in El Barrio for Tito Puente and was captured on film. Featuring an all star cast of legendary artists and musicians, many of whom are no longer with us. Please join us and be among the few to witness or re-visit (if you were actually present) this special event that took place in the birthplace of the King. Amongst many other topics of discussion.

Today at 2pm inside Boys & Girls Harbor on the 5th floor, the Tito Puente and history of latin music continues as Joe Conzo's special invited guest, former Judge Edwin Torres, whose novels have been made into Hollywood films, will be on hand sharing and discussing his memories and anecdotes of Tito and the era of the Mambo Big Bands in NYC.

Boys & Girls Harbor is at 1 East 104th Street and 5th Avenue. There is a $12 registration fee and you can pay as you go along throughout the series.
