Absolutely love the Salsa music of Puerto Rico!

Looking for more recommendations of bands and tracks to listen to.

I feel I've been in the Timba wasteland too long. LOL.

I'll start:

Post your favourite tracks.

If there's a thread already existing, post links to that.

Careful!!! hope your're not stirring up another hornet's nest...should'nt that be AFRO-CUBAN music with a Puerto Rican tinge!!! (Just kidding Azzey). I like this one:
Great song of La Sonora Ponceña. That performance is from Colombia with excellent Colombian musicians. For me, the definitive live version is from the Ponceña 50 anniversary concert when Luisito reunited to perform Yare. Awesome trumpet solo from guest artist Luis Aquino ( one of the very best trumpet players from Puerto Rico ).

Abayarde did a Puerto Rico Special in November last year on Salsa De La Mata with songs on Puerto Rico which was pretty awesome and I still listen to it regularly. Love those pulsing rhythms.

Here's "Déjame Soñar" by Tito Puente & Tony Vega which was also in that set. Pretty neat to see the Eddie Torres Dancers in action.

Love Love this song.....warm and fuzzies all over, I don't know of anyother nationality that has such beautiful odes to their patria!!! Also there are so many Vid clips on youtube of Magna dancing to this song and she always does it justice..love it!!!

Unfortunately the links to the show are broken. :( I seem to recall listening to the show at the time but would be nice for a re-listen. Have to settle for manual playing from the track list.
