song for girlfriends 40th birthday- help me find it please!

Hi all,

Wondered if anyone can help!!

My girlfirned's 40th birthday party is coming up- marking it in style we are having a salsa party and their is a particular record she wants to dance with me to.

Can any one help?

It starts with this really good

"dah dah de dah dah" beginning- with a chorus

"I want you, need you, love you, heaven break down the walls, don't you know I love you"

First line has something to do with "movie star"? :?

Appriciate your help :-)

Happy salsa!

Tim

Damn, can't place it :)

It's not Thinking of you - Lenny Kravitz

could it be Lady - Orquesta Palabra - so overplayed it's almost disappeared now

btw Welcome to SF !

Lady?!-a aargh!

Thanks for the welcome- don't think its those ones-

Lady- my nightmare track when I was beginning- I used to think I could never have such a wide number of moves without going through them again at least 5 times to that loooonnnnggggg track! ;) [isn't it around 6 minutes long?!]

"Lady you're my knight in shining armour and I love you" it still haunts me! ;)

Yeah - it's a past favourite of an ex-partner and mine. So, I still twitch when it's played

Timbo, it would be very sad for the lady if the lyrics were like this  - but it's I'm your knight... - and I think it's only about 4 minutes!
Think about "Vivir Lo Nuestro" - it's much "worse" (the song is great, but something bout 7 min! )

The song is called TU CARRITO by Carlos Oliva
here are the lyrics:

Hey, well I'm the friendly stranger in the black sedan Oh won't you hop inside my car
I got pictures, got candy, I am a lovable man I'd like to take you to the nearest star

I'm your vehicle baby, I'll take you anywhere you wanna go
I'm your vehicle woman, by now I'm sure you know

That I love you, I need you
I want to, got to have you child
Great God in heaven, you know I love you

Well if you want to be a movie star I got the ticket to Hollywood
Well if you want to stay just like you are you know I think you really should.

I'm your vehicle baby I'll take you anywhere you wanna go
I'm your vehicle woman by now I'm sure you know

That I love you, I need you
I want to, got to have you child
Great God in heaven, you know I love you
Oh, you know I do...

Si yo fuera tu carrito tu sabes lo que haria:
a la felicidad the llevaria

A VER SI QUIERES
A VER SI QUIERES

TU QUIERES QUE TE SAQUE ESTE DOMINGO ?
A VER SI QUIERES
A VER SI QUIERES

DIME SI TU QUIERES QUE TE SAQUE ESTE DOMINGO
TU SABES LO QUE HARIA SI TU ME PEDIRIAS
A VER SI QUIERES
"Cuando?"
ESTE DOMINGO

TU SABES LO QUE HARIA SI TU ME PEDIRIAS
A VER SI QUIERES
"Que cuando?"
ESTE DOMINGO

"A ver si que?" A VER SI TE LLEVO AL MIO
"Ah bueno" A VER SI TE LLEVO AL MIO
"Agua!!!!!!" A VER SI TE LLEVO AL MIO
Este domingo A VER SI TE LLEVO AL MIO
PA'LLA, PA'LLA

MONTA QUE VOY Sube un ratito
PA'LLA, PA'LLA Uno na'mas
MONTA QUE VOY Uno solito
PA'LLA, PA'LLA Yo se que te va a gustar
MONTA QUE VOY Paseando por la avenida
PA'LLA, PA'LLA Montando en tu cacharrito
MONTA QUE VOY Yo te llevo suavecito
PA'LLA, PA'LLA pa'lla pa'lla

MONTA QUE VOY PA'LLA, PA'LLA
MONTA QUE VOY PA'LLA, PA'LLA

That I love you, need you
I want to, got to have you child
Great God in heaven, you know I love you..............

I love that album with Carlos Oliva. It is called Crossing Over.

Soundsamples at w w w.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=2629104

He starts up every song with a cover of some old song from the late 70-ies and the early 80-ies. Then the melody changes and a hot salsa is started up. Hevy salsa rytms. Heavy cuban or New York style. The original song is sometimes mixed in.

This is like a copy of my own dance carriere. It started with disco and funky music and now ends up in salsa. I mix in the disco dance/funky rythms into the salsa like he does.

It is my own life - my own crossing over - on a album. :D
