Nope. That's absolutely because I prefer "sweeter", "wetter" and "spacious" sound to "dry", "thin" and "in-your-face" one.

This song is much harsher (and also less "full-bodied" and "wide") than I imagined...But I guess some minor EQ-ing and veeeeeery little reverb would solve it for me. :D
 
Usually what makes a song guajira as opposed to son montuno is the topic of the song. Guajira is usually about country life or farms. So you can often tell by the lyrics, at least if you are a Spanish speaker.
