So, what other music do you like?

there is also non-melodic ("grind core" or "hard core") version :) pure brutal or scream vocals with noisy guitar and drum solos without harmony. i hate that type! well, you'd say that you couldnt find the melody or harmony in the song i sent too. it's like not being able to hear clave;) you start hearing it after some time.

Just booked my flight to attend one of the world's premier music events April 8-10 in New Orleans:

The line up in 2011 promises to be as awesome as as the 2010 listing and I am not going to miss any of it, plus its in New Orleans, the still genuine cultural heritage of music in the US.

I like lots of other types of music, though I suppose I don't regularly listen to a lot of it. Like many of you, I like other types of Afro-Latin music. I still am very partial to the English language popular music that was around in the late 60s through the 70s, but I don't necessarily listen to it that often. (I kind of feeling like I will be re-exploring it soon however.) I like a lot of Arabic music, especially the older tarab performers, though I also have been liking some recent khaleeji music. Janelle Monae's The ArchAndroid is my favorite album this year. And one of my favorite musical discoveries of the last few years is Shiina Ringo (solo and with her band Tokyo Jihen). Here's a recent example of the latter:

Salsa is my main love, but I also love Bossa Nova and balads by a certain singer called José José. I also appreciate good (for me) examples of jazz and rock, together with other genres.
