So what happened here?

I would like to point out that even though I have to admit I found it entertaining too, I don't want people to feel that I posted this for people to gloat at :) All performers deserve respect for what they do even, or maybe even more so, when things don't go as planned. Not sure many would have continued after falling off the stage :)

I think most performers would continue...I mean, what else would you do? Instructors always say, "the show must go on". This means that no matter what you dance through trips, spills, wipeouts, wardrobe malfunctions, explosions, earthquakes, forgetting the routine, everything. That's part of the coaching you get while on teams as well. Every performance, even of the same number, is always going to be different.

I wouldn't be surprised if he hurt himself during that spill. Looks like he just really couldn't support her weight for the tricks anymore after that. I feel really bad for them :(

my friend was competing and her boobs started to come out of the dress..she didnt notice, so..she dance like one minute with everyone looking at them kk and there's a dvd from the congress so everybody saw her boobs..

shani here danced showing the bra..

All props to the guy for getting up and continuing with whatever it was that he was doing and I am glad that he was not hurt seriously, because that kind of fall could have ended very badly indeed!

Just a note to everyone here. Just because the performance music was salsa, and a good one at that, does not necessarily mean that the dance performance itself was salsa also, unless you are an extremely "subjective" sort of guy or gal! :D

There was more "salsa" in this one for obvious reasons. Of course, there would be even more "salsa" if more performers in the international salsa scene listened to the women's lib movement and burned their bras! :p

Thats the best laugh Ive had this week...:D
Yep, no denying that today's global salsa dance scene is a rich and apparently endless source of laughter for all of us Salseros! :D

On the serious side , its called lack of preparation . Stage awareness, was obviously not there
What do you mean, are you criticising those "beautiful" turns, spins and patterns? How dare you?:p

Actually, in the early stages of that video, my money was on the girl collapsing first from some kind of a brain hemorrage or trauma to her neurological system from all the spins, turns and sudden dips! :D

And neither of these dancers are out of the woods yet as they should expect serious reprisals from Eddie Palmieri and Lalo Rodriguez after what they did to their music! LOL!

LOL!!!!!!!

What REALLy made me laugh, was, the way he"popped " back on the stage, and threw his top down , with a WTF attitude , and she seemed to go on, totally oblivious...
One thing it does point out; no matter how much you think you have prepared, go prepare again ! ( and get a coach !! )

That was just before he felt the physical pain and the sheer embarrassment of what had just happened, poor soul.

and she seemed to go on, totally oblivious...
Knowing the mindset of the typical 'salsa' dancer nowadays, she was momentarily happy to have the stage to herself and basked in being the center of attention! :D

A coach and a safety net! ;)

Now that really didn't look like salsa to me... and I appreciate a bit of headless chicken spinning from time to time (less and less these days though), lol. Girl was sexy though, ;)

I just had a disturbing thought (yes, another one). Could it be that the pattern monkies watching that show were actually impressed and could we possibly see a new trend of the 'new' and 'sexy' Latin, "Falling Down Bounce Up Shines (FDBUS)", workshops in up coming salsa congresses????

well, he is a pioneer, the first man to introduce 'stage diving' into salsa :)
AHA! I can see it now, "learn the new and sexy salsa shine style of 'Stage Diving', you will always impress the majority (and 'amuse' the minority :D)"!
