Ski trip with salsa festival

Hi guys, I want to go with my brother and father on a ski trip with dancing (mostly for me). Do you guys know of any salsa/bachata/kizomba festivals with skiing or any ski cities with a good scene (in europe)?

There's Reno in January. A few years ago, there's was a free bus (about 1 hour each way) to the Tahoe ski resorts.

Oh, in Europe? There's Switzerland in January, also the congress in Brazov.
 
Isn't Italy supposed to be a good salsa scene. Northern Italy should have access to good skiing in the Alps? Assuming there are good salsa near by. France has skiing too, but those areas are far from Paris. I haven't heard of great salsa outside of Paris in France.
 
I've mixed the two in Japan. As long as you don't need both on the same day, it's a few hours from Tokyo to great skiing in Yamagata (I love Zao Onsen, although I don't know what the transport connections are currently like as you have to pass through Fukushima) or Nagano-Hakuba. Longer if you want the cheaper buses or local trains, but if time is an issue you can take the Shinkansen to Nagano or Yamagata. From Osaka I would ski at Gifu or Northern Shiga, although the skiing isn't as good there.

It sound like you're set on Europe, but it might be a future option to consider :).
 
I am setting my sights to the beginning of December when my lil brother has time off school, I saw that ljubljana and brasov are 15 km away from ski slopes,does anyone know if they have decent dance scenes in December or of any festivals in ski areas at that time?

Oh, now I get your username. How fitting.

About dance and ski: it's a great idea. I would also welcome something like a science fiction double feature picture show. If someone has any good programming skills, you could just join two event calendars and see how they match. I mean, there is already tonnes of salsa festival calendars, there must also be similar ones with skiing events. Just join them as see what results.

Could do same thing with salsa and marathons please.
