SF Shines Compilation Number 6: The "Wait, What's the connection?" Edition

Oh downloads are fine, my girlfriend has lightspeed internet.

It's uploads that are severely restricted with most packages from most ISPs.

Still not here yet?!?!? I feel like I am waiting for one of those late night movies that people stand in line for-lol. Can't wait to FINALLY see everyone's hard work!

And finally, videos are here

Thanks to everyone who participated, encouraged, or waited impatiently on our editors.
Special thanks to Sweavo, Thepresenceon2 and Blair for saving us on such short notice.

Our editors: You rock our socks.

Have fun, and remember that constructive criticism is highly encouraged, while personal attacks will be deleted (as usual) and punishable by me.

P.S: To those who stuck to the dress code: You are awesome.

OMG... some of you have got some major choreo chops! I really think we need to revisit the original compilation idea of people successively teaching a shine that the group learns then adds onto with the next teacher.

kudos to madame taskmaster for motivating folks, cracking the whip where needed, and arranging for flake coverage. kudos to ohwc for coming out of lurking just to help out with the video editing needs. and kudos to wildbill for his obsession with star wars. i support it and would like my screenname changed to queen amidala immediately.

el che... lots of material there. nice job filling up the piece. could tell you were super into it.
antigone... that early bum shake was perfect, lol. liked your mood read, i felt it similarly.
wildbill... loved the knee whip turns! will find a way to use.
blair... very few guys id venture to partnerwork this type of song to, but i do reckon i would ask you. ( for the flake coverage!)
big10... youve become SO versatile! i would have never guessed this to be your style but you certainly attack and nail it like it is. great choreo. also doesnt hurt that this style takes 10+ years off of you.
twoleftfeet... great use of leg sweeps and slides!

natty... such grace and control
sweavo... im a major horn lover so your hits are doing it for me ( for the flake coverage!)
smiling... you always make me smile, cute exit. the spots are looking great. nice work with the arm/hand control and your levels.
opm... uhmm, can i get a private?? your limb coordination is sick. crazy clean lines and great choreo.
chrisk... you waited to get into it until after the 2:41 pelvic thrust. ha ha. maybe you should start all your shines with that move. LOL
caribsalsera... were we doing unlikely places again? awesome backdrop, lol. LOVED you in this. i could SO feeeeeel your groove. gritty faces and all.
mangomotion... i want your arms and every movement they make. youre always so jazzy and svelte.
lolita & lillith... suuuuper cute ladies. awesome choreo.
thepresenceon2... odd that you were a late fill-in here, because that piece's start was MEANT for you and only you. at least that's how you made it feel. ( for the flake coverage!)
jolinia... nice improvement!! you look more grounded and your gait is more flowy.
olamalam & toan... what a great idea to feature the whole CLASS shining! sorry things didnt work out better with coordination. but toan, you cant help but to think "what if" had you remained on as video editor.

So, now that the compilation is done and released, I'll be following my tradition with a quick reflection on my shines segment before reviewing the actual clips.

After seeing and hearing the song choice of Lolita, I could imagine doing shines to both, but wanting to also keep up with the selected theme, I went for the second one and looked for a segment that would challenge me to go out of my usual way. So once I got my preferred section of the song, it was time to listen to the whole song a few times as well as let's just say multiple times to my section to create an general outline for choreography. After a review of my outline and some minor changes, I was feeling good about recording, but managed to cut off part of my head in the resulting clips. :( So the one day extension came just along at the right time as otherwise I could record with daylight instead of the evening lights. I then recorded various batches the next day, reviewd them and send the best off. Interestingly for me the best one was the second take that I did and although I still feel that there's a lot of room to improve, I'm happy about having tried to go a bit out of my usual way. So I will appreciate every comment, even if you don't like it. :)

Now before review the clips, first a big Thank you to all participants, our editors and of course Lolita for coordinating this round.

El Che Nice new entry, liked how you played off the accents in the music with your arms and body movement
Antigone Really liked how you matched music and bodymovement at 1:23 and that rumba like movement at 1:55. And of course, your smiling is the perfect cherry on top and kills it. ;)
Brownskin You're always amazing to watch and absolutely enjoy your shine. You really know how always surprise us with another great shine.
Wildbill Love how you played off the music at about 2:40 with your body and really loved how you ended your segment with that suzy-q, turn and then that pose.
Blair And one more great new entry to the compilation. Great how you interpreted the music at about 3:34 and with that jump at 4:06. Would love to see you in future compilations.
Big10 What can I say, except for you nailed it again. Amazing how you played off the music with your feet and also the hand movement at 4:44. :)
TwoLeftFeet And the last new, but also good entry for this song. Like how your movement perfectly fits the piano at the start of your segment and how at 4:57 and 5:21 how you jump into that pose!

Natty And great new entry! With such a shine, there's been no need to be afraid and I really like how your movement at 0:22 and 0.44 fits the with music.
Sweavo Hm, I think we should nominate you as best dressed shiner. ;) Great old-school movement and how you played of the accents in the music with your hands.
Smiling28 Wow, you kept your shine on. ;) And love your movement starting from 1:29 to moving out of the screen.
Opm1s6 And you're were not satisfied with this? I think you really did a great job in interpreting the music and liked how you also managed to include some pachanga.
CaribSalsera As before, your not big on movement like others, but I like the subtle interpretation of your music that you bring in. :)
Mangomotion Wow, love your interpretation and how it looks so graceful with that arm movement.
Lilith and Lolita Lovely interpretation, girls! Lilith, fantastic new entry and I don't see what you should fear off. I like not only the interpretation of the music, but how you add your own touch to it. And Lolita, great how I can see your love for the song and how you move as the music tells you the step to take.
ThePresenceOn2 Wow, great way to interpret the music and to start off your section. Great work!
Jolinia Interesting change of perspective and I think you did a good job considering your previous complaints in this thread.

Overall, I really enjoy watching this compilations and can't help but smile at all the contributions as well as the perfect edits to them. It's great to see so many new faces join this compilation as well as all the 'old timers' interpret the music and add their own touch to it. Just another fantastic compilation and really great job be everybody, who took part in it.
