And smiling, I do believe you're up for song picker this round. I think we may have shifted to having 2 song pickers though, since 2 videos has become the norm. Wildbill may have been the second submitter. He can confirm....

Duly noted! Though I hope you don't have to wear multiple hats.
The thing about the song picks though, is that it's set in advance. It's been the policy that the first person who submits their video gets to pick the next song. This was implemented to encourage people to submit early, and also give people a way to be SURE they could pick the next song. If we change this policy mid stream, it's not fair to someone who may have intentionally submitted early in order to have song picking rights. If you're taskmaster, you can implement a policy change for next time, but it's not really fair to change it now.

We need logistical manpower. 1 task master and 2 video editors. Even if you're not available for the upcoming round, please let us know if you might be interested in the future. It'd be nice to have a reserve pool of people to tap.
The taskmaster lays out the compilation rules, coordinates with the song pickers, divides up the songs, assigns shiners to parts, sets deadlines, encourages shiners, discourages flakers, harasses late people, and does the banana dance a few times. :banana:
The video editor receives all the videos from team members and edits them together into a final compilation. Task involves converting the files, synching the music, adding an intro and shiner labels, and harassing late people. Banana dance optional.
Both these roles are CRUCIAL to the project, so non-committed persons need not express interest.

I am smiling when I see everyone is in. Pttwist and Piel should be in too. Hopefully OPM and the presence contribute also as I would love to see their stuff.

Actually I didn't know that these shine compilations existed until yesterday. I just watched the previous ones on YouTube and loved them, it's so great to finally put faces to SF names

. You know that with me, it's all about the music . Though I'll probably end up spending too many hours perfecting the shine so maybe it's not such a good idea for me to do this. Come on, it's not about perfectly shining to a part of a song, but having fun and creatively interpreting it whether you're perfect in your timing or not or as Brownskin put it so nicely in words last time

You get the gist. Whether you're a returning shiner or newcomer, there's always something to take away from this. It also becomes a great reference point should you become a regular and later look back at your progress.
- practice that one shine you've been meaning to learn
- work on your ______ (styling, spotting, posture, body rolls, choreo, etc)
- show off (or stumble through) your favorite moves (either is fine, we really ARE a supportive bunch
)
- get an extra dose of salsa in an otherwise slow scene
- see yourself on video and get more comfortable in your skin
- renew your salsa spirit and have a little fun with the board
- etc etc
Anyway, I hope to see a lot of the members from last time again and what about those who backed out or watched from the sidelines: redsalsero, Latindancer006, GuyDC, azzey, azana, lilith, Salsera E, Estoniana - who of you is up to join as well?
