Sexy bachata exists only for the women's pleasure. Screw that! Occupy bachata!!

Omg, so funny! This line cracked me up all day. Probably cry a little at night tho :( Muah! I need to sexy bachata you to find out what's going wrong! You may be onto something. ;)

You need to sexy bachata your way up the ladder until you reach the top....Judging by your nightly weeps, I say you still got some steps to climb.
Report back on your progress and I might give you a half sexy bachata.

I let em come in close then say "damn! what have you been eating?" and leave the floor. Let 'em know who's the alpha.

I LOVE dancing a hot, steamy bachata! To be honest I actually do feel in a sense satisfied and grateful that a girl let me get that close to her in the first place!

I do simply keep it as a dance though, and yes I've had plenty that were very close, and plenty that weren't. I enjoyed every one of them.

I've had the rare occasion of taking a girl home after some steamy bachatas, but that's usually because we're interested in each other in the first place, and have an interest in taking our interest to the next level.

It is a funny thread, but the OP still makes a point. Sometimes I feel that bachata is used merely as a pretext to be intimate with someone, without it having any consequences.

You kind of skip some steps in a normal buildup to a relation and just get the good parts (or bad parts, depending on the relationship). I think that both men and women can be a bit creepy if they only dance bachata (which is really easy to pick up and therefore the threshold of going from normal bar guy to a dancer becomes low).

Of course it's just a dance and it doesn't mean anything? Wrong. Everything means something, and a dance is supposed to model ancient relationships between the sexes. On the other hand, I don't mean that you can just assume that every one you dance an intimate bachata with wants to come home with you either, but if we decouple the roles from normal life and dance-life too much it isn't any longer a dance — it becomes theatre.

Just wait until the k word takes over your salsa scene. You ain't seen nothing yet.

Do you think that the k-word is more overtly sexy than sexy bachata? I have to be honest I'm undecided... the k-word seems to be more slow and sensual... but then bachata can be that too...

It's not that it's more overtly sexy, but it's more obviously little more than 2 people rubbing groins. Any pretence at musical quality or dancing skill is pretty half hearted - close your eyes and rub groins, with an occasional token dance move.

Of course:

It's not always like that - but it is in the vast majority of cases I have witnessed.

It's not necessarily like that in its original form - videos of dancing from Angola suggest the original may have more substance to it, however as usual salseros (at least in the UK) have adopted an Anglocised version.

There's nothing wrong with it per se; after all, 2 consenting adults should be free to do whatever they wish. I just wish they wouldn't do it on dancefloors at salsa nights.

Don't know how close or far to original is this clip, but looks quite decent to me

However, it was on the street. In the dark of the club, thousands km from there, on the sensual music, everything is different ... It's similar if we compare dominican bachata with bachata danced in the clubs

I think what DJ Yuca means is more like this one youtube.com/watch?v=4dEC-8a9FpE :D This one must be ok for you DJ Yuca, it´s at home ;)

The video you posted is not even Kizomba, it´s Semba!

I like the way the bed is subtly placed in the background, just in case we need reminding of where this dance is heading.

Now replace the location with a salsa party, replace the young, attractive couple with middle aged Brits, and there you have it.

That's what a lot of saleros feel when they're standing around the dancefloor, passing time whilst trying not to look at the undignified spectacle before them.

I admit that's harsh, but some of these k word dancers should try sitting out a k word dance and watching instead, they'll soon see why many salseros are not impressed with this intrusion on our scene.
