SCALA in london any1 tonight?

If you go, be sure to give us a report - I'm thinking about possibly going in November.

Dammit! I wanted to go to this one and completely forgot it was on. Ah well. I suppose still having aches from a dips class is enough of an excuse for not going.

ditto on the report by the way - would love to hear how it went.

sorry to dissapoint but it was really quiet :o . have been to the bank holiday sundays and they're always packed. maybe because bar rez (vauxhall) and i think salsafusion (great portland st) i think was also on. maybe 3 big salsa nights on the same sat 2 much 4 london? maybe just an off night. will probably give a miss in future, may ask about RE:salsafusion. when i say quiet i mean 1/3 or 1/4 the usual. there was only a handful of people in the cuban room (a friend told me, i dont go in there yet). saw a few of the usual suspects from london there. i left early (1pm) maybe it got a bit busier although no-one was waiting to get in. :?

:( Okay will have to rethink about November. Any recommendation?

BTW flex where did you do the dips class i really need to do one?
Hmm, it's a shame Scala wasn't all that. Maybe the next one will be different.

It takes place at the Standard in Walthamstow opposite Blackhorse Rd tube so it's easy to get too. The next one is in November. You can email 'info @ salsados dot freeserve dot co dot uk' to get on their mailing list. They'll take you from  to 8) in an hour and a half. We even did those neck drop dips and the type where it looks like you flip the lady up with your legg. Pretty cool stuff! You WILL ache for a couple days after but it's worth it. :)

Might see you at the next one eh...

P.S I'm flujo not flex. hehe

I heard it was really quiet. That's annoying because the reasin I didn't go was because the Bank Holiday event was so crowded that there wasn't really space to dance until 4am. I didn't want to wait until that sort of time again.

But if there were already two other Saturday night events on then it was pretty silly to have a third. Even London's scene isn't big enough to support three large venues on a Saturday.

I will probably go to Scala next month if there will be space to dance though :)

Yeah it was really quiet for Scala, but there were still lots of good dancers, and lots of space to dance with them in!
I had a nice night... but without the usual bump and nudge that you normally go through in there, it really lacked the right atmosphere. Weird eh?

I'd like to go to Scala next month as well as I've missed just about every major Salsa event this year. Besides, it would be great to see some of you do your thing...wow the crouds with the SF  . Mr. Vazsquez move aside! :)

Yeah, but you got the good dancers last night as well. I saw Shelley's boyfriend turning you into a good impression of a tornado

No, didn't do the class. Just turned up about 8.45 and was disappointed to see it was moved to the smaller room.

I just can't come to terms with SOS. I get a lot of good partners there but the music leaves me cold. Maybe I'm just too picky.

know what you mean about the music sometimes (for me) its really off. reading the thread re: salsology and the jazzy/difficult music made me think of sos. some love the music (although i suspect they've been dancing salsa for alot longer than me. im an int/adv dancer and was waiting for songs i liked (like the sound od initially) but there werent that many. i reckon the music played is a level above me (or 2,3...?) if that makes sense.

It's a bit early considering the thread title, but is anyone planning on going to Scala on the 27th?
