salsa places around Schaumburg, Illinois?

I'm going to be in Schaumburg, Illinois for work tomorrow. Just wondering if there are places there for Wednesday night salsa dancing. I don't care if it's club/restaurant/dance studio.

Thanks!

Nevermind, as usual, my work don't tell me anything. I'm going to Libertyville. Any suggestions for a Wednesday night would be appreciated.

Screw my work, like typical corporate America fashion, upper management are a bunch of idiots.

I'm getting a place near the airport, so I'm within driving distance to Chicago, even though I have to go to Libertyville the next day. There seems to be plenty of places in Chicago to dance. Feel free to recommend one, if not I'll just pick a place.

Thanks!

There aren't any hotels in or near Libertyville that you would want to stay in so Hotels near O'Hare are a good choice. People seem to be recommending Aquila for Wednesdays on the chicago area sites.

That's actually what I did. I booked a room at Embassy Suites right next to O'hare. Then I'm going to drive to Chicago, google says about 20 minute away.

I found salsachicago.com, it listed Avila and Club Royale for Wednesdays. I'll look up Aquila.

Thanks!

oops it is avila not aquila, 20 min is a good estimate at 3am, in rush hour not so much.

Really, even at like 9pm there's traffic? I won't get in until 8:30, so by the time I'm ready to go out it'll probably be close to 9:30. Figure I should be able to get to Avila by 10pm. That's normal salsa vampire time.

I'm back to California.

Yup, I made it to Avila. The drive from O'Hare area to Chicago was pretty easy by the time I was going, even though there were road construction going on. On the way back I got lost in Chicago.... all those damn one way streets.

The club was a bit smallish. Pretty good crowd, but not packed in, so the dance condition was pretty good. I danced with some pretty good dancers. The DJ played a bit of merengue, bachata, and cha-cha, but mainly salsa, I thought was pretty good pacing. Although the dance floor was a bit too slippery for my taste. I also noticed that there were a lot of couples there, and seemed to have more men than women.

I met this lady Emily, who turned out to be I believe the salsa instructor that teaches there. She was going to invite me some place tonight, but unfortunately I was flying back. Not that I'm not happy to be home, but had I stayed in Chicago one more day I would have gone to whatever event she was doing.
