Salsa New Year's Resolution

In the coming year I vow to...

1) Have more eye contact with my partner

2) Learn to follow...somewhat

3) Finally find those pair of Puma shoes "everyone" seems to be using for dancing

4) Dance as much as possible :D

1.-Learn more advanced Rueda figures.

2.-Go to at least five congresses in 2007: Chicago, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, New York and Toronto. (Montreal does not count, I live here.)

3.-Stop rolling my eyes everytime a salsa "purist" tries to convert me to their style.

1. To stop being terrified of dancing with the really good dancers.

2. To stop being terrified of asking men to dance.

3. To stop being terrified.............full stop!!!

Made a big step in the right direction last night regarding number 1 and danced with Marchant Birch :D (can't say the same for number 2 'cos he did the asking or number 3 'cos I was still terrified) Which leads me to another.....

4. To start going to On2 classes - the dance was On2 and I've never had a On2 lesson!!

Get back to Salsa. I've been away too long. :)

:? Me too.

1. Dance more (which means go out more).

2. Workout regularly to regain my fitness (so I can dance more).

3. (Not 100% salsa related but) gain better financial control, so I can reduce work hours and dance more!!!!

;)

I have a pair of Future Cat Lo's, great for slippery dance floors. Split sole, leather upper. Wonderfully comfortable even after 5 hours of dancing. Not great for doing more than 3 spins though as the sole is rubber:

Was thinking about getting a pair of these next as they look cool, for lazy sunday dancing:

1. Get back into dancing Salsa.
2. Get back into shape so that I can get back in dancing Salsa.
3. Carve out more free time so that I can get back into shape so that I can get back into dancing Salsa.

By the way, does anyone have any suggestions for someone wanting to transition from On1 to On2?

I don't normally make resolutions, but for Salsa, I'll make an exception...

1) Be as free on the dancefloor as I am at home (almost...don't wanna hurt anybody)

2) Gain a deeper understanding of the music so I'll feel more free breaking away from the basic count.

1) increase my weekly expense for CD's from 4 to 7, therefore

- A: I'll listen to a new CD every day :D
- B: I'll pass from 500 CD's to 865 in a year :D :D :D

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!

My salsa resolutions include:
- Try a new dance teacher/class starting next week
- Be light!
- Attend Montreal Congress April 20-22
- Try dancing in L.A. in March
- Get better at On2 (currently dance mostly On1)
- Don't be so hard on myself
- Lose the last 5-7 lbs. (have lost 20 so far but the holidays didn't help;-)

5. attend a congress

Im on schedule....
I have gotten started on 1-4 and my first congress is this weekend. How is everyone else doing? My biggest accomplishment is that Im not petrified to get on the floor anymore. Now its just for fun, as it should be. I really dont even care anymore how it looks to the person watching.

4. Work less

No good for me, I've only managed #2. And regarding that, I'll be at the Hamburg congress in July :) Maybe it's time to start a roll call for it!
