Salsa in the San Fancisco Mission District?

So I am in the San Fran mission district now. I can sneak out fora while tonight, 24th, Mon and tomorrow night the 25th, a Tuesday. I will be a away a couple days and then could go out again on the sat and sun 29th and 30th nights. Anything worth checking out or time better spent getting an early night at home. I dance typically on1 and more Cuban style, though I can do crossbody as well.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i was just in San Fran in Oct, and Cafe Cocomo down there is maybe a 15m bus ride from the mission. It is in kind of a isolated area though, so i would go with someone else or take a taxi. Live music there, they have Salsa on Saturdays. most of the dancers there are on1...ask SFer Offbeat if there is anything special afoot this weekend..

Yes. Cocomo's usually has live music on Saturdays though I am only seeing a TBA for the 29th. DJ music generally starts around 9:30pm. Live music 10-10:30pm. Dancing is generally on1 but you can often find dancers on2. Cuban not so much. A cab is probably your best bet.

If you can go out tonight then you should go to El Valenciano at 1153 Valencia St in the Mission District. It is a predominantly on2 club. Music starts around 9:45. Lesson before that. El V is one of the best salsa nights of the week in San Francisco.
