Salsa in Italy (Rome, Florence, Venice)

DancerGirl

Changui
I'll be going to Italy in October, and I'd like to know where to dance salsa (preferably with good dancers, cross body lead style on 1 or 2)?
Here are the dates I'll be there:
Oct 17-22 Rome
Oct 22-26 Florence
Oct 26-28 Venice

I've already PMed a few members on this site, will post back if they give me any info.

Thanks for your help!

In Florence and Rome they mostly dance Cuban Style (90% or so).

I see that you'll be in Venice on Saturday 27th October; well, if you take a 7 miles taxi run, you can come to visit me while I'll be spinning Classic Salsa of the 60's/70's along with my friend Beto here:

Club BAC HARDY Via Garibaldi - 30031 Dolo (VE)

Over there, all people dance Mambo Style, some on2, some on1

Cheers

Mambo, I think I will definately take you up on that offer (if there's no better place to go in venice that night). Save me a dance :) Can you PM me your number in case I need more info about it when I'm there?

Man, you guys make me want to travel SOOOOO much!

Soon my friends :)

Italy, Spain, the UK. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(And Europe look out!)

DancerGild,

I envy you!!!!!! Italy is my favorite country in Europe! The culture, the countrysides and cities, the history, the language, the fashion, the food, the people .... (I could go on): It has class! I love it!

I know Pedro Gomez from the time when he lived in Germany in the 90s, he has been teaching in Rome for many years. So I checked in Google and found this: Link removed by Moderator
Scroll down to the bottom where you find contact addresses and phone numbers. He has been teaching Puerto Rican style salsa for many years and knows the PR style community and clubs in Rome. You have to know where to go. We went out dancing salsa in Rome in 1998 but did not find the PR style clubs. We did not have a car there, either, so we had no means to get to the places outside of Rome and we were told that those places were in the outskirts. Since then a lot of things could have changed, though. If I were you, I would contact Pedro. Since he gives workshops in Florence also, he might even be able to give you insider info about salsa in Florence.

ENJOY! ENJOY! Tuscany and Rome are soooo beautiful!
