Perfect explanation!- bachata bongó and guitar sound
- guitar guajeo and bass e.g. around 0:10 and 0:50 are very son
- emphasis on the 4 more generally is typical of son, not bachata
- bachata artist, bachata in the album title
It's a cover of a song by Pablo Milanés that fits into "nueva trova", probably wouldn't have called this (original?) version son although there may well be some influence
I have a cd at home I bought in Holguin. I hope I can find the liner notes. Afew bachata sons, bachata-chas and x-bachatas, actually. Not sure how much I like it.Just ran across this lovely bachata-son
Any more examples bridging the genres?
