Rome, Wednesdays, Colosseum, salsa?

Does anybody have a recommendation on a good salsa night in Rome on Wednesdays somewhere in the area of the Colosseum? Maybe also for Thursday and Friday (I don't know yet how things will turn out)?

Grazie mille! :D

Dancing Zanussi is on Thursdays. Its on the Linea A near the Rei di Roma station. The entrance is on a driveway that runs down below street level. I don't think there is anything real close to the coloseum, the area didn't seem very night clubby to me. I didn't find anything for Wednesday when I was in Rome but heard later on that there are several clubs in the suburbs which can only be reached by car :(

I think, most people go to the place called Palacavicchi (www.palacavicchi.com), but it's far outside of the city centre (close to Ciampino airport). Can't imagine how to get there without a car.

I spent 9 days in Rome in the beginning of January. We went dancing on 6 or 7 nights, mostly to Palacavicchi, but couple of times (both on Saturday) we went to 2 other places - also very far from the city centre.

I can ask a friend of mine (she lives near Rome) whether she knows of any clubs in the city centre, perhaps there is still something. Will PM you on Facebook, SalsaGipsy.

I am here and NO salsa for me..Try to look but the only name that appears is the palawhatever and its very far..

salsa for tomorrow please cause I am going home after that :(

Thanks, that might actually work location-wise. If I only manage to get away from the dinner

Thanks! I wouldn't have any possibility to go far from the centre. I guess if it was vacation I would have found the way somehow :P but on a work trip it's probably not the best idea.

Hmmm I somehow assumed that there will be more salsa in Rome. Very strange.

But I'm sure you've had a great time there anyway :D

Ok, spoke to my friend - unfortunately, there're no salsa-clubs in the centre :(

But if Zanussi location-wise is ok for you, SG, that could be an option. If we are talking about this coming Thursday, my friend was planning to go there herself and if you get to Zanussi by metro, which according to her is easy, she could give you a ride back (if you manage to show on the map where you would be staying and if you are ok with sharing the gas cost :) Let me know what you think.

Thanks! That's really kind of your friend - please thank her from me. Unfortunately it's going to be at the end of April but I was rushed to start booking because apparently it's post-Easter and pre-"pope-becoming-saint" day... or something of the sort and should be really busy.

Aha, ok :) I sent you a long message on FB, but i'm not sure if it went through. I included my friend's contacts in the message, so in principle, if you need any info about parties or anything closer to the time of your trip, don't hesitate to contact her (or me - i can always ask her).
