Riga Salsa Festival Roll Call

It looks like I'll go Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Will find out if they have DJ schedule. Wanna make it for El Malo.

I'll be there, at the Cuban-style party every night. . . also I'm local and happy to advise on any questions about Riga, the local dance scene etc (but I'll pass on being a tour guide!)

Bought party pass today. Also I'm pretty sure DJ Joker will play some good sets. He's been practicing songs on us lately. :)

Tomorrow preparty!!!

How was it, Al? I left when Mauri came on, but people seemed excited and there where too many people. Of course today there will be much more space and much more dancers.

Judging by the weather forecasts, SalsaGypsy is coming only for Friday's party?

It was too crowded in the LA/NY room, and later on more guys than girls :o the bachata kizombo room was too well lit and the Cuban room was a little clickish. I still had a great time but hopefully today will be better.

She is? Oh, didn't know that :wacky:

Unfortunately I will have to miss it this time. We do have representatives of our local scene going, so, please be nice to them :)
I decided that the travel will be too much for me and with the amount of dancing that I do these day, simply not worth it. Few weeks ago I had to go to Tallinn for work and the 2 and 1/2 hours by bus were not fun. 4 hours is not something I would like to attempt right now.

Have fun and dance for me too. Now I go back to congress-thread-ignore mode. I can't take it to read about the awesome dancing others are getting while my weekly challenge is to climb up the hill to go to the old office. :meh: I swear this hill has grown, now it's more like Everest.

Ok, that explains rain and cool breeze. :) And Tartu is very hilly. Do I get to dance with your students?

Yeah, I suppose the temperatures might not be tropical this year for a change :D Sorry about that but our region has been the envy of the rest of Europe this time, so, a bit of cool breeze would be fair :)

There was a plan that a few of the girls will go but I don't know which ones will actually make it. I hope you can locate any of them. They had a road trip to Vilnius festival and came back very enthusiastic asking about where to go next. :)

Yeah. It was a good party. Dj Viper played a great set and DJ Mauri spinned well as always. I did not really like DJ El Malo's set though, it was pretty medicore.

Hehe, how differently people perceive music. :) Mauri played weak sets, thank god for cuban/groping room. And more he drinks the cheesier he gets. From Malo i did expect more, there i agree..

I loved the music all night, great Cuban and salsa music but a lilltle more romantic salsa would have been great. Waiting for the party in three hours!

I was just getting all confused until I read your post about Mauri Smejmoon. That sounds more like what I'm used to :)

Well I liked the festival and am tired and happy. Got to dance with SG students. :) Liked the friendliness of the dancers. Had quite a bit of space (except Thursday), it was rather cool compared to +30c last year. Music was ok.

Best dances where with friends, freestyle with performancers and with beautiful ladies. So I'm not a salsa dancer, but just dancer who likes salsa.

The real ***** magnet was cashmere sweater. It lasted 3 dances only, too hot. :)
