Really smooth salsa dancers

Andre was one of the main guys I remembering looking up when I think about smooth dancing, and he's definitely changed from the first time I saw him.

This video popped up below the Luis Vasquez parody video of old LA style posted by @Chris_Yannick:

Didn’t had to turn on the sound. You can see the guy is a smooth and a nice dancer. If I were a follower, this is one of the type of leads I would want to dance with.
Is that Gormack? I've danced with him, he's good and a nice guy, but nothing that made me go 'wow' tbh. But it was a much faster song & he could sense I can dance fast so was really going for it with the moves, felt a little towards pattern monkey at times. Also to be fair to him, I'd had a couple of mojitos by then

That’s my point. There is nothing wow in it. It is steady and consistent. Wow should really be dictated by music. When you danced did he separate for shines? In the above video he barely does. But for that song it is fine.

Honestly how many leaders make you go wow and why ?

Can't remember if we did many shines or not tbh. Not many leaders make me go wow tbh (but I rarely get a chance to go to festivals with higher levels), but as for why it's usually musicality and playfulness and giving me space in the dance - not just pattern after pattern. If anything I found Gormack a bit pattern-y and not very musical. But tbh I find a lot of even higher level EUon2 'smooth' style dancers very practiced and smooth with moves but not often very musical.

Yep. It is different looking at the dance from outside and being in the dance. Camera and those looking at a dance can’t capture all the musicality that is happening in the dance.

If this was thread about musicality I would not have posted that video. This thread is about smooth dancers.

Which reminds me of G-Ya from Korea. I don’t know if there is any of his video posted on this thread. He is one of the smoothest and elegant dancers. His social dancing always reminds me of the word elegance and then smooth. He is consistent in his social dancing. He is also very good performer. One of the local followers who is pretty good and near advance level was once gushing after dancing with him. She couldn’t stop talking about the dance. Looking from outside the dance didn’t look different than with any other good leader. Yet for her it was top of the world.

I watched a Latino guy dancing in my town and he had some interesting moves that weren't too dissimilar from cuban-ish (in terms of dancefloor dynamic traveling
And some funky footwor

Very linear and lots of breaks in music with off timing for the follower but rolled to back on time. After dance I asked what style that was and he said classic LA style (that is where he is from). I was surprised. Looked nothing like examples of LA style I've seen and I quite enjoyed it.

Jai Sheffield is a smooth dancer. I watched him a while at Magic and really liked his style. This video gives me the same impression. Ok the song is easy to dance to and it doesn't hurt to have Sophia as follower but he really has a smooth flow and always gives a good frame to her.

Gormack might be really pushing possibilities here. it's not a very smooth dance.

To stay on topic, Irena is one of the best follows i've danced with as well. Another dancer that is as smooth as she wants to be, but can be as explosive as well.

So he is also an instructor?
Is anybody shown here not an instructor?

Always when I had a great dance with somebody somewhere and some time later her profile crosses my path in FB she is always teaching somewhere. Probably hard to find a great dancer who is not teaching?

He looks like a good dancer. I guess only the follow can really speak to it.
