I always think humanity made a wrong turn somewhere with nightlife/partner dancing. It should have been the main thing at nightclubs, instead people turned to this drunken uncoordinated mess we call clubbing today. Then its just normal to "grow out of it" as you get older, then bring in the new young generation and repeat the mess and keep selling alcohol.Interesting and heartening to see sone big reggaeton and more pop oriented artists delve deeper into salsa. Maybe a sign the tide is turning or at least some are seeking something a bit deeper.

I think that started when Rock and roll music became popular followed by the disco era. Clubbing is easier and takes very little skills. Most people go clubbing with a friend or group of friends. I have rarely found a couple on a date choosing to go clibbing. I do not see anything negative in clubbing.
Partner dancing is a skilled activity. If you take any skilled activity, number of participants is a tiny percentage of larger population.
You could teach in schools at young age. Then people will have at least some memory and familiarity as an adult. The German and Eastern European schools used to have ballroom dancing as an activity in the schools.
