Question about Soñé / La Campaña by Issac Delgado

Hi, I've been listening to this medley a lot from Delgado's 2007 album En Primera Plana. I'm trying to figure out the origins of these two songs. Are they older Cuban songs? Or did Delgado write them?

One little twist I'm seeing is that the Cuban duo Gente de Zona also released recordings of Soñé and La Campaña (as separate tracks) around the same time as Issac Delgado.

Thanks in advance!

I don't have the album with the credits but I've heard that Alexander Delgado, Jessee Suarez and Baby Lores were involved in writing the song. So they are the composers according to what I've seen but I don't have any proof.

EDIT: I'm trying to find someone with the physical CD who can check the credits.

I had some friends send me the scanned covers and there it doesn't attribute the song to anyone, but Kevin saiid his MP3 tag says thta the composer is Antonello Venditti

Thanks for passing that along! I tend to be skeptical of those MP3 tags. Like the CDDB tags before, these are often error-prone (I think they're user generated).

For what it's worth, the BMI database at repertoire.bmi.com shows the songwriters as:
WRITERS / COMPOSERSCURRENT AFFILIATIONIPI #
DELGADO HERNANDEZ ALEXANDERSGAE516885424
DIAZ SANCHEZ ERNESTOSGAE531127591
LORES GONZALEZ YOANDYSNS531127689
SUAREZ RAMOS JESSEESGAE417848139

That would suggest it was written by the Gente de Zona guys, not by Issac Delgado. Which raises a separate question: how did Issac Delgado end up releasing his medley first? However, most importantly, I think you've answered my question about whether this is a traditional Cuban or Salsa song. I'm new to this genre, so I wasn't sure. But the answer clearly seems no. Thanks again!

Cool. I didn't know that there was a database to check. I know sometimes Cubans have done Spanish versions of Italian hits but Antonio seems not like a guy to write those types of lyrics.
