Peopleorama : Who have you ever been dancing with?

Hi everyone ....

Here comes a new question with the beginning of this year 2006 (by the way, I use this opportunity to wish all the best a salsero could need to everyone for this year to come !!!).

:friend:

We are all talking about techniques, congresses, classes, feelings or amazing salsa things we admired....anyway, I was wondering how many of us have one day had the chance to experience one magical dance (or even more) with one of those so called "international top dancers".

They are doing salsa accross the world, but they are also people like us, and our (proportionnaly speaking) "small community" gives us more opportunity to meet some of them...

Ok, I start and wait for your sharing experiences....

- Al (liquid silver) from LA >> Met him in a salsa club in Paris, It's been a really interesting dance experience. I must admit I was wrong about him as I was fearing him to be a bit "rude" in leading with his kind of LA salsa style. I was all wrong, he's been the softest, and very spicy player with his dance partner.

- Max, from Tropical Gem (Milano, Italy) >> Extremely caring person like every other members of tropical gem. I danced with him during last UK Congress. I'd say he's one of the only internationals I saw inviting absolutely unknown ladies all the time. Very kind, lovely dance, and really surprised he leaded me to dance this salsa....on 2 !

- Milton Cobo, Cobo Brothers, from NY >> Met him in a salsa congress in France. Smiling and discreet person, with such soft lead, great experience !

- Thomas Guerrera from Santo rico, NYC >> Met in the south of France. Really funny and non common person. Trying to unstress and not think about his mastering of the dance. Really original patterns, but have to be really rigourous and technically perfect !!!! "Flying" dance memory !

- Frankie Martinez, Alabakua dance company, NYC >> I met him in the club he's running in New York City. He invited me after we speak a bit about salsa music. I must say I was really impressed and really surprised he wasn't this starified kind of person I thought ...Greatest dance souvenir, with lots of laughters. But unfortunately far from being my best salsa ever as I was too captivated watching him dance to really be a dancer myself... LOL

- James Cobo, Cobo Brothers, NY >> One of my best memory. Met him in south France and in Paris. Charming guy and great dance partner ! He has kind of every salsera could wish : the sweetest lead, perfect timing and most precised leading impulses, and, top of it all : a great sense of playing in the dance with so much connection. Or maybe his dancing just matches what I most appreciate....

Can anyone share these special dance moments? I am waiting for your experiences.....

ok so I am to scare to ask top salseras to dance yet . .. just wait a bit though.. ( I am even scare to ask my first salsa teacher )
As for Frankie Matinez being --not startified-- that for sure, when I meet him, he was all cool and nice, helpfull and down to earth. actually all the names in salsa I have meet have always been nice people, Eddie Torres, his wife, Jeauru, Jonny Matos etc.

Barbara Cano (Manuel Mascarell's partner) @ First Salsacongress in Bulgaria - I was beginner in LA salsa but invited her... It was really nice. I'm expecting the second congress here in Sofia:)
