NYC- promising places Aug 12,13 to dance - need opinions pls

Hi everyone,

I've got my tix to New York (hopefully I won't have to wait hours at the airport to get there b/c of the heightened security since this morning's terrorist plot discovery.. :( )

So here are my options and I really need help with them

Saturday afternoon:

Salsa Practica with Mambo D ( from salsanewyorkcalendar.com)

or

Mambo mamas social ??

Saturday night:

Copacabana - is it really commercial on Sat night? Where are the good dancers in NY if not there?

or:

'Mike Pena Presents Salsa Under The Stars - Jade Terrace @ The CHINA CLUB'

Sunday afternoon:

PielCanela social

or

Event: 'CARLOS KONIG MAMBO SUNDAYS'

Sunday night:

Event: 'OPTIMUM Presents LATIN NIGHT AT JONES BEACH BOARDWALK BAND SHELL'


Event: 'AZUQUITA SUNDAYS W/ DJ BABALOO @ Kana'

Could someone please let me know what these events are about (commercial, dancer tailored or not, what kind of music, are they busy etc..) I would really appreciate some feedback!!!

Thanks in advance! Oh, and am I missing anything good that's not necessarily on the Internet? :D
 
One more Sat event in NYC

I just found this event too...

SALSA AT THE SEAPORT - Free - A happening "On 2" event held every week outdoors on Pier 16 of the South Street Seaport

Is it busy there? Is it a good event?

I'm so lost..... :? someone help pls....
 
PielCanela and CARLOS KONIG should sure give you a nice place with good dancing, skip copacabana, the dancing there is below average,at least from my experience.

Hopefully we get some of the NY members to give us some feedback in your other options, I haven't personaly heard about them
 
New Yorkers where are you.... I need your valuable opinions please ;) I am leaving tomorrow and won't have access to my computer after :-(
