Oh yeah,

As the congress (particularly the SF meetup) was tremendous last year, I had to return :)

Just a quick trip this time but I will be there for all the congress so lets meet up again for dinners and dances etc.

I feel I have grown a lot in my dancing and self since last year. I have become more confident as a person so will not be as shell shocked and awe struck as last year. Plus the expererience last year really toughened me up.

So REALLY looking forward to seeing and dancing with everyone.

Who is in? :) :) :)

Woohoo! I bought my pass last November. And yes, it will be easier on your 2nd trip to NY. I only felt half beat-up this time.:-)

I'm in! Wiiieee! Already looking forward to it :) And I'm guessing I'll take over your role as the shell shocked one this year Smiling. :P

Hurray. The SF crew are so cool. It will be great.

Please save me LOTS of dances :)
I hope that we can do a mega salsa forums video tribute this year ;)

I have already bought VIP pass on the day when the last years one finished.
But still not sure as British pounds is getting weaker agains US dollers!
Lets see how things go......

Keep in mind that you don't have to stay at the Hilton, where the congress takes place. Last year I stayed at the Pod Hotel, which was walking distance, and less than half the price. I recall that others stayed at hostels.

Also food in NY can cost as much as you want to imagine, or you can get a large box of chicken, rice and salad from the mid-eastern street vendors for $4.

Travel Inn on 42nd street is $140 plus taxes right now, fyi (it's 1 mile from Hilton)

Yeah, food is easy to come by cheaply.

I stayed in swiss1291 hostel both times I came to NYC. The first time I had been touring new york state and canada and the private double room was perfect for our purposes and superb for the price. The second time I came for the congress and got a dorm and the water was off for the entire floor. Not such a great experience when you add in the jetlag. I moved to the hilton for the congress --- it was great to be able to hop in the elevator half way through the night, get a shower and change and come back down again straight into the thick of it... but not sure even that was worth the nightly rate.

Oo this is tempting! But I should try to have varied experiences rather than forming an expensive habit like NYC congress!

Thinking about it.

The highlight for me last year was hanging out with you all. It just happened to be in NYC and during the congress. :D

I'll be there!!!

Not just attending (I plan on being there for 4 of the 5 nights) but also performing :D

We'll be representing Salsabor (Canberra).

Can't wait to dance with everyone who can make it from SF! - on that note - how am I going to know who's from SF?

I'd say it's a better expensive habit than for example gambling, cause at least you know it will be a wonderful experience ;)
