New to Salsa SCENE (Miami-305 Edition)

Hey, what's up everyone. I'm new to the Salsa and would like for someone to point me in the right direction. I spent 3 months of my summer in Colombia and there I fell in love with Salsa; HOWEVER, I can't DANCE Salsa.

One of my goals for the NEW YEAR is to learn Salsa. I figured I get a head start and start now. Can ANYBODY point me in the right direction? I'm looking for an AFFORDABLE instructor and/or school where I can learn Salsa and maybe Bachata? Suggestions on clubs would be welcomed as well......... cheers!

You'll need to inform us of what kind of style of salsa you would like to learn, and then somebody can probably point you in the right direction: Colombian/Cali style, Cuban style, LA style, or New York style.

Since you're in Miami, you'll probably find that Cuban style is very popular.

To be quite honest I want to learn whats more common in my area so I guess Cuban Style. I wouldn't mind learning Colombian style as well because I do travel there every so often. But I want to start learning A.S.A.P!!!! (because I suck lol)

Worry not about learning Cuban and then heading back to Colombia, your average Colombian will be easily compatible with your dance style.

Sure you'll adapt a little, but it's no sweat once you've a little experience under your belt.

I don't know the Miami scene these days, but I'm sure other members will OR you can just head to google and hunt down all the salsa schools. Ultimately you may have to try a few before you find the one that suits you best.

Enjoy!

First, welcome to SF, Azul305!

On the google hunt I am..... I appreciate the feed back

If I'm not mistaken, then Salsalovers is one of the big dance schools in Miami teaching cuban style. Also I think I once read something about a event in Miami by BorntoSalsa, but no idea if they offer classes themselves or just organize events.
