New salsa

Not strictly salsa, but iLe's album of boleros is worth a mention. Here's her cover of Hector Lavoe's Un amor de la calle

any idea who's the composer?
I'd guess the man himself, no metadata on spotify or youtube (but it turns out the track is from April 2025, just the video is fresh). Apparently it's dedicated to his wife Yuliet.
...

But Apple Music and this article https://magazine-pr.com/leoni-torres-presenta-su-nuevo-exito-musical-si-vuelvo-a-nacer/ do have credits: Leoni Torres, Alain de Armas, Ángel "Pututi" Arce, Beatriz "Bea" Cesar.

I can't find much on Alain de Armas, but Bea Cesar is a Havana-born songwriter living in Florida, and Ángel Arce seems to be a producer who's also a drummer with Manolin https://www.timba.com/musicians/pututi2.

Finally got to drop this cover (Que Se Sepa) the other night during peak hours. I had some visiting artists with two large groups of latinos, and it packed the floor. The song is fast and a bit showy, so it also cleared out the beginners, intermediates and sensual dancers:rofl:; but, I followed with a slower romantica and the crowd-floor rotation was nearly perfect!

(jump to 0:43 min to skip the Funk intro)

Another one of their jams (Fuego a la Jicotea), still fast but more accessible to the average dancer.

im not really digging this one by luis fonsi.. its too "pop anthemy" for me, but look if it gets a few of the young'ns dancing to salsa in the bars, its no harm, better than vivir mi vida :D
