If you register yourself on the website, then you seem to be able to watch the whole 24 minute short film, that they have already produced.

BTW, the producer has been working on a new "movie" called Spanish Harlem Project. Albert Torres is involved and they were "auditioning" dancers at the congress in Zurich last year. Perhaps this new push on the old project has something to do with that. As far as Mano, you see much better dancing on Youtube.

This is nothing new. I saw the same "short" 3 years ago. I guess the producer is pushing this now on Facebook. Was nothing special is why he's been pushing the same thing for the last 4 or 5 years.
Ditto. I attended the DC premiere and after party for the short film. There was talk of expanding that short into a full length feature film but I guess it has morphed into this bigger project. The fact that they had Lee Thompson Young and Giancarlo Esposito in the short impressed the heck out of me so I guess Tony made some good connections out in LA.

On Magna's interview in May 2010 she talks about doing the choreography and maybe acting in the full feature version of Mano.

Mano is listed as in pre-production in June 2011 on IMDB:

Anyone heard any more about it?

The chap behind it all seems to have been in 'collect donations or sponsorship to let me finish my movie' mode for quite a while.

If you can't get financial backing in the era of innumerable rubbish dance movies, dunno when you can!

That said, maybe it's time they explored other ways of bringing things to the screen. The cinema is no longer totally off limits to budget film makers: if you are any good that is.

The explosion of fan-made movies on YouTube is a definite example of low budget film making rivaling Hollywood-produced films.

I saw it a while back and I must say I was a bit underwhelmed.

It's a short, what do you expect.. dancing with no story? A full length movie could be good.

At least it has better dancing in the Salsa club scene than Cuban Fury!

Where's my holster for my 45. :D

Well, I'd say this one is below the standard level of shorts, which is quite high actually. And my point is that if they can't make it work as a short, a full feature is most likely even worse. But I hope they prove me wrong :)
