You can listen to samples here: www.elwatusi.com/playlist/?ALBUM_ID=63000

From Cali, Colombia, Nayibe lives in New York City and is a rising star in the international Salsa scene, performing with her own band and the Mambo Legends Orchestra.

Highlights for me on "Con Salsa Y Melao" are the uptempo La Caridad and Mani Picao ( with guest vocalist Jose Mangual, Jr ).

Yours truly is featured with trumpet solos on the dramatic bolero-turns-guajira, Intruso Amor.

I hope you will check out this new release from Nayibe La Gitana!

Wow, thanks Groovetpt. I will look into this a little later on when I get some more 'me time'. :)

Thanks, DJ Ara!

BTW, you can hear Intruso Amor in its entirety on my web site, www.groovetrumpet.com -- it's the first auto-play song.

Great track and thank you. That made me 'travel' to a some nice places.

I loved the other stuff as well, including the jazzy trumpet track, 'Samba Cancao do Marco' (I can't find the Brazilian 'c' key on my computer...).

I will take time soon and listen to more of your music on your site. :)

Thank you for taking time to listen. I appreciate that, DJ Ara.

web site checked. listened the songs; liked the Salsa tunes, including Nayibe's. also liked the drum and bass (or lounge?) music. DJ's for this genres love the trumpet sessions.

Red Morning Rise and Maña CD's already ordered on Amazon.

Wow, that's very nice of you, Abayarde.

I think you'll like the Maña. Some nice arrangements by Luis Cruz and Ramon Rosado, and two Bombas arranged by Papo Vazquez.

Yeah, I went through a "thievery-corporation/electro-jazz/drum-n-bass" phase a few years ago. I did get many good responses from many DJ's in the genre. Was fun, but sold all my gear on ebay -- now it's just me and my trumpet. :-)

I liked the manã songs..the samba cançao is your composition? love it , people here would dance bolero to that song..the spinning plates things is too advanced to my ears rs

found in amazon another recent album from Nayibe (La Gitana). wasn't able to buy it since the only copy is from a domestic seller (Puerto Rico natives can buy only from "International" sellers).

did you also recorded in that album?

Do/can you buy from descarga.com? I think they have it.

No, I did not appear on Nayibe's first recording. Ray Castro ( of Conjunto Clasico ) and Julio Castro ( La Masacre ) were main producers on that and she was performing mostly with Conjunto Clasico backing her up. Here is Nayibe with Conjunto Clasico: www youtube.com/watch?v=5uJhhtklMbA&feature=relmfu

I joined her band after she put her own band together with producer Henry Montalvo ( of Tropical Budda fame ). Henry produced this latest recording "Con Salsa Y Melao", with musical director J.R. De Jesus.

just talked with the seller (from Texas) and he gladly changed it. Descarga and Watusi are my last resources due to their prices.

I'll wait a little later for "Salsa y Melao" until it is offered by other sellers.

My picks in Maña's "Estamos Gozando" are Canción de Amor, Prucutú Cumbamba, Yo Soy Chambelón and Ókere.

Calypso, Bomba y Plena is ok but missed the Bomba beat in congas, just like Anthony Carrillo's performance in Prucutú Cumbamba. Here (maybe for a change) conguero "Tito" Andino follows a beat like Willie Colón's Ghana'e (oriza?).

From Red Morning Rise, I like Bossa Bayati, Playground, Red Morning Rise, Journey By Night, Double Up and Angel In The Middle.

Still looking for Nayibe's new CD. Not available where I usually buy...

Thank you Abayarde! Your support really means a lot.

Yes, Anthony Carillo is a master!

Henry is waiting on a distributor for the new Nayibe CD... shouldn't be long now.
