My new shoes

Let's have some pics of what your favourite shoes for going dancing are right now...

Although not dance shoes, these Puma's are great for slippery floors and doing Cuban style..

Apparently they are "Inspired by the requirements of Motorsport drivers, this modern evolution of the RP-43 features a reflective heel to shield the driver from the heat generated by driving."

Should be a good heat shield for multiple spinning then! ;) I hope it works against high-heels as well!

..and I've warn in my bloch's now after the last congress and they're just fine and comfy.

You can see I'm in a red phase right now..

I've been breaking these in for a couple of weeks now... I have the black suede pair.
Hey, are those the leather shoes you bought online? How do you like them? I really want a pair of smooth-soled shoes but I am deathly afraid to order shoes online without trying them on and I don't ever see leather ones being sold off the shelf.

Nope, the leather shoes are below. I get them in under 2 weeks so I'll report back in about a month on how I like 'em! :D

Okay, well I'm waiting with bated breath for the final report! :)

Back OT: Right now I dance in these:

I like them a lot because they are stable and well-constructed with a chunky heel that's the right height for me and good coverage in the vamp. The one thing I don't like is that they only have one strap around the ankle. The vamps on these shoes stretch out so quickly that pretty much all I've got holding me in is the strap. I think for my next pair of shoes I'm going to try and find something with a strap around the front of the foot as well.

I like these a lot

but I am worried about ordering shoes I haven't tried on, plus these are from a UK supplier and the shipping is expensive, not to mention the abysmal exchange rate :(

noob, who's the manufacturer on those second shoes? i ask, because they look exactly like a pair by very fine shoes. there are a lot of mixed reviews out on their quality. but hey, they're cheap (stateside at least).

Brownskin-these are SEXY! I want a pair now!!! (Except that I don't think I could dance/spin in leather soles very well.) :(

Noobster-You know I love the tankaas. I have that silver pair and have worn them to death! I also have two other pairs as well! And don't let me see another pair at the D.C. Congress! It's over!!

The second pair are Oobashoos. Thanks for the link; but I don't want to buy a cheap pair of shoes because I am very hard on my shoes. I stand on the heels and subject them to other such abuse and I am pretty sure a cheap pair wouldn't take the beating.

Yeah, I got them partly on your recommendation - thanks! You were so right! :) My pair are a wreck now though; all the silver is scraped off the sides and I cracked one of the heels right off (got it repaired though, it's been fine).

I've actually been wondering if it's possible to Salsa in Heelys
I *love* those things!! Do they sell them in adult sizes? I totally want a pair. They would be awesome for the corridors at work - wheee! :D

Jambo: Those look a bit like tango shoes - dangerous!. I am impressed that you can dance in those heels!

didnt mean to peg you as non-discerning shoe shopper! :) it's just been my experience that VFS has a bunch of authorized dealers that sell their shoes and just put their own label in them. because the styling on the ones you posted was an exact match, i thought the shoes might have been VFS in disguise. so if you were getting the same shoe, i was gonna suggest getting them for the "real" price. lol. but i looked up ooba and see that they are in fact two different entities.

These are my first dance shoes. Just got them last Friday. It's going to take some getting used to dancing in high heels. But practice makes perfect, or so I've been told.:D

Oh, I wasn't offended in the least. Cheaper is better in my book - just not if they're going to break in 3 months and end up costing me twice as much as having bought durable shoes in the first place. :(

Btw I have seen that style in a couple of other brands as well. It seems to be a not-uncommon style. The Oobashoos say they have a steel shank and a thicker heel as well (although it certainly looks thinner than the Tankaa heels from the picture). The heels in the picture you linked are subtly different and seem like they could be less sturdy than the Oobashoo heels (although it's pretty hard to say from a picture of course).

The Oobashoos have an all-silver pair as well but I think I am done with silver, it just looks awful too quickly. I think I am going to stick with black and flesh-tone from now on. Boooooring. :/
