I first saw this guy’s website about six years ago. I think he had just started putting out online courses. Then I forgot about it. Few years later I tried to search using keywords and couldn’t find it. Finally this week I rediscovered it
Though it is a tango site the “musical interpretation” topic he writes on, is not tango specific. It can be applied to salsa dancing too. He talks about how leaders are taught to step on the beat and that does not teach musicality in dancing. How performance moves don’t work socially. He also breaks down what musicality workshops generally teach and why doesn’t help either (you would think he is talking about salsa musicality workshops). Lot of it will sound familiar but it is nicely put together in a coherent manner.
