Hi everyone,

I hope 2013 is treating all of you well! I guess I've got an annual relationship with salsaforums where you guys get to throw your questions at me. :) This time however, I have a slightly different idea. I originally posted the following message on my FB page but I think you guys are much more active in terms of discussing issues so I'd definitely like to hear from you as well. Please read the message below and you can reply here or to the FB page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Magna-Gopal/16797026570 When I post the video, I'll be sure to add the links here.

-----------------Original Message on Facebook------------

I have an idea I would like to propose to all of you and I will definitely need your input. I have been thinking of creating a short monthly video blog (approximately 5 minutes) addressing questions and issues that you might have. I will create a note similar to this and address the most popular requests.

I'd like to try and guide your requests for the time being to avoid topics as general as "Spinning Technique" as that often takes me more than 90 mintues to break down in a workshop or other moves etc. :) I could suggest some ideas like "Male/Female roles in dance, Dance floor etiquette, etc..." However, the ball is in your court and I am open to your ideas.

I came to this idea mainly from a lot of the very short conversations I have at the end of my workshops that last less than 5 minutes but tend to have long term impact in transforming the way people look at dance and the way they enjoy and express themselves.

All you have to do:
  1. Think about a topic or an issue that interests you or confuses you
  2. Try to be more specific than general
  3. Write in the comments or if it's too personal, you can send me a private message as well and when I address the issue, your name won't be mentioned.
  4. If you like the idea or have friends that have questions, please share this post so I can be of help to more people as well

I owe this idea to the many friends and students that have taken the time to share their feedback. It helped me realize that I perhaps I can be of help even if I'm not physically present.

Look forward to hearing from all of you and thank you for your continued support! :)

Ok, how's this for a question? Leads are constantly being reminded that that they need to look out for and protect the follow on the dance floor, what tips can you give the follows for creating a safer dance floor environment?

We all know the answer to this one: please, ladies, stop wearing shoes with sharp, spiky heels! Your look won't suffer without them and you will save someone's foot from a painful heel stabbing.

I thought it was just because women like pain. They ware shoes designed to be painfull for them with heals designed to cause pain to others and have open toes to increase the chance of injury even further.
