Mojito

How do you like your Mojito the most?

Well, i went to various places to dance and i always taste their mojito. There are some places i like them and others aren't that good.

So my favorite mojito is made in a Havana Club Mojito glass. 1 cm of liquid sugar (i like 'em sweet ;) ), a bit of limejuice, lots of fresh crushed mintleaves, 4-5 cl Havana Club Anejo Blanco rhum, some crushed ice and add sparkling water until the glass is full.

What i don't like are those premixed mojito's that they put in a bowl and scoop it out. I prefer Havana club over bacardi and i prefer crushed ice over icecubes. And the mint has to be very fresh.

I have never had a Mojito :-( But I'm with you on the pre-mixed thing, based on what I have seen people do to Margheritas.

Definitely agree - fresh ingredients are a must. One thing I don't care for is when you get lots of little pieces of mint stuck in your teeth/mouth.

anyway : mojito rules !! if you never had one, a sure must-try... and if you had one before, why aren't you drinking one right now?

They frown at that sort of thing here at work.

Then again, they frown at me goofing off by posting on forums...

Because I've just had half a bottle of wine with my lunch and any more alcohol would ruin my dancing tonight ;)

That's a thought - I wonder if you can get a non-alcoholic mojito?

Any bartenders outh there? What would take place of the rum?
This obviously isn't non-alcoholic, but isn't a Mint Julip just a Mojito with whiskey instead of rum?
