Mens fashion

My take: my salsero dress is basically the same as my normal everyday dress which is stylish and sharp. I kinda like to stand out by not changing into salsero/club type attire. I guess it's 'peacocking' but it's really not intentional. I'm just generally well dressed. Today I was rocking driving moccasins and basically in all white. No one in the joint was wearing white.. lol. The ladies loved it and I even got a lap dance.

Be your own person and don't follow. I will recommend darker colors, undershirts, and changing shirts if necessary. Never wear underarmour type clothing unless it's hidden underneath. Actually, you should never wear underarmour period unless it's totally hidden. Good god it is hideous. Why men, why!?
 
I find that light trousers (cotton pants for example) can be a problem in bachata when things get steamy. I will leave it there. :/ Skinny jeans for bachata.

When things get steamy and jeans doesnt help, I change to open hold and do bachata moves. It helps most of the time.

Open hold and finding the square root of random numbers does the trick. Sometimes.. ;)
 
I saw one of our "super stars". After starting attending advanced class in SOS, he started to carry towel on the back pocket as most of other "super stars". (thepresenceon2, no offense ;) )
Yesterday I saw him wearing a long (nearly goes to stomach level) necklace outside the t-shirt and wrapped his neck a scarf also. I thought, yes, he completed his evolution :D
 
Olam, no offense taken.....:)....the necklace and scarf are def the evolution, cuz i cant understand dancing w jewelry like that w/o it being dangerous and i've danced with a scarf b4 cuz i wore one to the club b/c it was cold and b4 i could put it down i got grabbed for a dance and my neck almost melted off...halfway through i had to say excuse me for a sec so i can take off this scarf b/4 my neck melts off......
 
Soplo, self control buddy.....funny enough though that seems to be lacking in salsa. growing up in a heavy reggae scene with LOTS of close dancing, think your steamiest bachata, over and over, all night....i've seen guys get slapped and cursed out for not having control...so everyone gets the hint quickly, whereas i know too many women who can tell me size and shape of leaders just from a steamy salsa or bachata and amazingly no one complains about it.....at least not to the leaders....mind boggling....if i'ma woman and i'm dancing w a dude who cant keep it under control, i'd have to ask him a. he needed a moment. b. are you 12? c. kindly keep your instrument to yourself.....

Trust me, I keep it to myself. That's why open position is important to defuse the situation. Unfortunately, some women will pull me back in and then it gets into a tug of war situation. That's why dressing appropriately is important. I find that it's only a small subset that can do this to me and I don't think they mind cause as soon as break out they pull me right back in. haha. Anyways, jeans people. I like light pants best but use with caution if doing bachata with certain girls that are not shy about their intentions ;)
 
Every festival/congress I go to I wear the same thing t-shirt and jeans.

I noticed there does seem to be a common "fashion" with a lot of dancers at festivals (e.g tiny waist coats/blazers etc..)

I wonder if dressing like this, and hanging around the DJ booth, would get me more dances at an event?
 
Nowadays you should wear red sneakers/leather loafers, pants that end at the ankles and a fancy button down shirt/long tunic/blazer/waiter vest. In Europe you can usually dance enough regardless of fashion so I choose comfort over style (linen/tencel clothes)
 
These days I find there are some great and very lightweight stretchy jeans eg from American Apparel, some are lighter than others and you can check the fabric or ask the clerk.

Also some stylish super light and shirts pants from companies like Lululemon. Depending on the look you are going for, if it’s more street/athletic and less classic/dressy.

Myself, I often wear a hat to contain the sweat, and go for the lightest weight and/or sweat-wicking hat I can find. But yeah it also contains your heat, so it’s not 100% awesome. Hats with a small brim seem better than others as I often find the hat getting bumped while dancing.
