Not salsa, but I'm putting it here anyway. (If a mod wants to move it that's okay.)

Ileana Mercedes Cabra Joglar, known as PG-13 when she has appeared with her brothers in Calle 13, has released a solo album. Call it Latin alternative rooted in tradition, with emphasis on bolero. (No reggaeton involved.) I've always thought she had a pretty good voice.

 
Having listened to the album a lot more, I prefer the following to the singles. Give her a chance to start singing on this one:


I don't know enough about Latin genres that are heavy on acoustic guitar to label things comfortably, but I've read reviews that mention ranchera and nueva trova:


I like the fact that various family members contributed to the songwriting. It reminds me of Puerto Rico's salsa family dynasties.
