anyone can tell anything about this dvd? I only know frankie's one and this new salsa dvd that covers that kind of class.anyone?

If you are talking about their "Rhythm & Movement" DVD, I've got it. I bought it after doing their rhythm & movement workshop at the UK congress last year because I enjoyed the workshop so much. I love it, though I can't compare it to Frankie's as I don't have his.

The DVD is presented by Burju and has three sections. The first part gives body isolation exercises. The second part shows how you can combine those isolations to styling moves and use them with the basic step. In the last part, she gives you a sort of shines choreographed to two pieces of music (available on separate CD), picking out the rhythms played on different instruments used in the music. This last part is quite challenging but very interesting.

I haven't bought this DVD but I have taken Burju's workshops before and she is a fabulous teacher and a very nice person to boot. And so it's clear--nobody moves like Burju either! She is 'la reina' of body movement hands down!

I don't dance ON2, but after taking victor and Burju's workshops, I have broadend my horizons slightly. Both DVDs are great.

Excellent DVD..it covers body movment, styling, musicality..and most of the movments can be used as shines. All the movements are broken down clearly. Starts easy and becomes really challenging.

For comparison, I'd give Burju's DVD a 9/10, and Frankies DVD a 6.5/10.

Remember Frankies DVD is NOT really an instructional DVD...just a recording of one of his body movment classes - and should be used as such....none of the body movments are broken down or explained.

I have a LOT of salsa instructional DVDs in my collection...In my opinion...This is a MUST HAVE DVD for ladies 8) Regardless if u dance on1 or on2.

Guys would also find it benficial - esp to improve ur body movment...Learning to incorporate ur entire body in ur dancing and shines.
This is the DVD Frankie SHOULD have made

where/what site can you order this dvd?
From their website, w w w.hymstyle.com.
Choose Hacha Y Machete Dance Co. from the top page and go to "Store".

Shoe shopping instructions here:

Not sure about DVDs... there are other websites where you can order (e.g., themamboproject.com, salsa-uk.com), or maybe you can email HYM?

Just my two cents here...

I have seen quite a few styling DVDs, but Burju's DVD is an absolutely fantastic DVD, especially for body movement. Simply phenomenal, and any lady who can learn those moves... well. What's more, she keeps you focused purely on the material, and absolutely no beating about the bush. I cannot imagine anyone would regret buying this DVD.

I will second the comments regarding Frankie's dvd. It is not an instructional DVD, it is basically a camera(s) pointing to one of the classes he gives every week in NY. No explanation or breakdown of any kind is given. Also the dvd is no longer in production.

To be fair, that is how he conducts his classes, you just stand behind him and follow. He has his own philosophy on what is the best method to learn. I don’t fully to agree with this idea, but he makes the argument that a student is not ready to understand explanations of the moves because she/he is not aware of her/body, and while he could say do this or that, It is in fact the shear repetition of the exercises in a extended period of time that will allow a student to obtain the skill and awareness to do such a move.

I took his class for about 6 months, and no matter what, I could not get the bodyrolls down, however it took a friend of mine 20 seconds to tell me what I was supposed to be doing. And I got it.

Still a great class, but I think you will need another source of instruction, to more efficiently, learn body movement
